Ok, so I swapped KA's awhile ago, but I think the mechanic sort of forgot to put back on my battery box....so I have no idea what the actual thing looks like or how my battery is supposed to be secured....
I see one huge threaded bolt right next to the battery (on the bumper side), but I don't see anywhere else to put another one on the back-side.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Am I crazy???
(I think the Nissan dealership wanted like $40 for the battery box. I don't really care about it not being there....but I cant do any track events with the battery just floating around)

I'm in the same situation except with an S14 ... the bracket wasn't on the car when I bought it but I haven't thought much of it. It'd be nice to have the battery secure, though.

put duct tape (several layers) over the pos terminal or make sure the factory cover is on the terminal while driving around at ALL times. One good launch or impact could cause a big problem.

Go to Pepboys, Autozone or Kragen's and pick yourself up a battery hold down/tie down kit. Run you maybe $10 bucks max. Use the long stemmed J type bolts & hook the J type portion of the bolt to the bottom of your battery box...there should be a slot for them. Then use the top brace supplied with the kit to secure the two J bolts to the top of the battery. When you are done, take a hacksaw or a Dremel tool with a metal cut-off wheel & cut off the excess portion off of the bolt. Just remember to cut off the excess portion of the bolt which sticks way up beyond the top of the battery before you drop the hood. If you don't then you'll screw up the hood when you drop the hood.
Anyhow, hope this helps...
