im switching my brown dash for a black one and i cant seem to get the instrument bezel(or the thing that surrounds the gauge cluster) out. i cant get the steering wheel i took off the peice on the steering wheel, the large nut/washer, and its still as solid as ever. theres no way to pull out the instrument bezel thing without breaking it because it gets caught on where youre key goes or the lever for the tilt. i searched for steering wheel, dash, and instrument bezel removal and couldnt come up with anything please help!

You have to lower the steering colum it is held by two 14 mm bolts. or go to autozone and rent a steering wheel puller and pull off the wheel.

where are those two bolts located? i read a install for an s14(should be similar) and saw the lowering of the steering column but it doesnt show the location of the two bolts/nuts.

they're deep in the dash, with the heads pointing down. they're brassy in color. one on each side of the column. just craw under the dash upside down and you'll see em.
