I'll save you all the BS and cut to the chase. I maxxed a paypal credit in order to get literally everything I needed for a T25 setup.

Everything but the turbo itself that is.

Right before buying the turbo I started second guessing and just looking at various T3 setups and my jaw dropped. Look I'm a Ka noob I came from an Sr and I just didn't know you could get such amazing results from the T3s on a Ka.

I was concerned with spool time but from what I hear the T3's spool retarded fast aswell and make stupid power at lower boost compared to any T2.

Long story short im seriously second guessing my choice and thinking of returning/ selling all these brand new parts I got in order to invest in a T3 setup instead.

I'm not looking for crazy numbers but I want the best I can get and the most fun.

I'm just wondering what other KA-T owners would do.

I mean im a few hundred shy of putting the T25 on my car or I could sell all that stuff and go for one of those crazy 50 trim setups.

P.S. im not about being different I just want whats gonna be more fun.

I'd say get a t3 setup. The t25 wil choke the ka, and IMO with anything bigger than a gt2860 you're better off using a t3 flange

hy35- cheap as an ebay turbo, internal gate
$50 t3 log mani
$80 550 subaru injectors
$60 z32 maf
$400 Enthalpy ecu
Realizing you probably spent 8 times this on credit... Priceless

I personally don't like T25 turbo setups, so I would say with bias, go the T3 route.
The parts are readily available and you don't have to get special parts to fit the T25 turbo.

The T25 flange is meant for sub 2L engines mostly, so yes, it will choke at some point.

That being said, T3 is a flange, too. You can find tons of turbos with that flange, and not all will work with your application.

I am surprised to see someone going from SR to KA though.

Personally i went t25 for my first turbo on my ka24e (single jingle!), due to the parts being to available in the area off the sr20det. I have fiddled around with the boost using an EBC, and right now i have about 9-10PSI out of the little turbo. i get full spool under 2.5k, it doesn't make the car super fast (right around 240Hp on a conservative tune), but a lot more fun, which is what i was going for. I don't have any issues with it, and parts are available locally for me incase something does go wrong.

I had the option to go with a t3, but there is more room for boom. After hours and hours of research on ka-t.org i felt that the t3 would push me into the area of requiring a motor rebuild with forged internals (apparently the magic number is 14psi, any more, and you gunna want to rebuild). EDIT: The t25 setup also allows me to goto to a t28 setup without a ton of modifications in the future if i want to. But, by that point i may rebuild anyways

Anyways,
im running:
t25 from and sr20det
gladdman manifold
HKS SSQV Converted to recirculate
FMIC
z32 MAF
444cc injectors from rb26
ROM tune on U12 Stanza ECU (stock ecu would have been fine, but i wanted a consult port)
Greddy profec EBC
PDM Mild Cam

Woaahhh Dont bunch us up together. Id never use credit for a turbo setup man. :picardfp:

Seriously dude, do some research before you go and buy shit.

Just go HY35 or something around there. All my KA's buddies have had one or still have one. And most are at T3/T4, I don't know one single KA owner running a T25/T28. (Although Im certain some do) KA's can be pretty responsive even on a slightly large turbo.

Make some goals, tell us what they are. 300hp? 400hp? Where do you want it to make full boost? Are you willing to rebuild the bottom end and maybe a set of cams? Im more than willing to help, just be smart and think for yourself. Its easy to make bad decisions and impulsive ones.
