ok, so i was thinking...e-fan behind radiator push air toward the front of the car...car running air is push toward the rear of the car. am i right so far??
what happen if I put e-fan in front of the radiator?? won't it be better??
PS: since i don't have ne more A/C condenser??
I don't know just my though on that what do u guys think?? :drama:

The fan behind the radiator doesn't blow air forward, it sucks air back through the radiator.

i think what he means is that if he puts the fan in front of the radiator (facing radiator to force more air into it), what benefits would it give.

mutkung-if you do it this way, fan -> radiator -> motor. i dont believe its going to work properly. theres not going to be enough air going to the motor which may cause your motor to overheat. but then again i dont know anybody who has tried this so i could be wrong.

He said it pushes air towards the front, which is what I was responding to.

its called a pusher fan.
Its suggested to use only where there isn't any room for a puller fan, as the puller works better

yah but pullers are more commonly used, prolly casue all the support brackets and the center part of the fan and such is blocking the radiator fins, whereas the pullers give access to all the fins in the front, there are a few pusher setups though, I wouldnt use one though. but also how bout a viper fan, my friend put one on his dakota, fits well and the rads are about same size, plus it comes with shroud and its only like a hundred bux new, or a little more.

You want a puller... They work better due to the fact that a Push fan will just end up blacking air when you are driving...

I dont think a push fan can keep up with my car doing 60mph down the road.

efans are only useful at stops and low speeds, once you build speed there's more air than a fan can push OR pull during higher speed travel.

the difference between push and pull is really just a matter of polarity. they can be wired up either way.

you put the fan infront of the radiator, and if it doesnt spin fast enough (equvilent to the speed the air is coming at the car 60kmph for instance) then it will just cause some of the air to deflect off the fan and around the radiator. Not to mention the fact that the fan mechanism will also cause the air to move around the rad not go through.

but it wouldnt really make "that" big of a difference.

Some BMW's I have seen have the "pusher" fan. So they most likely work just as well. When you are going 60mph there is no need for a fan due to the air flow from travelling at that speed. Which is what old_s13 said.

The BMWs you see with pusher fans only use them for A/C engagement, otherwise they never run.

A pusher fan will flow the same amount of air, but being mounted in front of the radiator will inevitably block more air also, so it's not an ideal setup. Cars that run pusher fans only, like say a Cadillac SDV, do it only because there's no room for a puller type fan.

what about if you had a fmic? Would having a pusher in front of the radatior also help the fmic

wow old post haha but i did this b/c i was told it would work better.
I have a s14 with a s13 blacktop sr20det greddy fmic koyo aluminum radiator and 2 10" electric fans from advanced that can be puller or pusher i originally had them as puller on the engine side then i switched them to the front of the radiator and wired them as pusher they didnt seem to push much air through the fins as what i was told they should cool better since the fans would cool the fins and cause temp to be cooler. puller fan worked better my temp gauge read hotter than it did with the pusher. so im changing them back.

theres everyones answer from back in 04 if you still give a shit

Just to let some people know that...if you switch the wires around connecting to a switch or battery. The fan can go clock or counter clock wise. Just to clear on that so people don't think that you have to switch the fan around or whatever.
