Hey guys, I did my 5 lug swap about a year ago with the contano hubs. This is a 93 hatch btw. When I went 5 lug, I also went with q45 brakes. I remember when I installed the front hubs, the hub nut wasn't a crown nut or anything, it just tightened down on the shaft, then you installed the cotter pin about a quarter of an inch in front of the nut, is this normal for it not to touch it? Seems like it's just there as a safety net. I remember tightening it with an impact before installing that pin, but I guess they backed off, cuz the hubs on both sides were loose. I saw in the fsm there is a torque spec when I was checking to see if I was missing anything, but I also reinstalled the stock 4 lug and it was the same way, nut not touching the pin. Any ideas? Just impact it and torque the bish down? That's kinda what I was thinking, but figured I'd get some other opinions. Thanks y'all, sorry about the freaking wall of text.

The pin is a fail safe.

Ah ok, that's kinda what I was figuring. As long as I torque it to spec, it should be good then I would imagine. Just found it kinda weird when the rears had like that crown piece that slips over the nut, but I guess being rwd it needs it. Thanks for the reply man.
