Insanely Clean 1997 240SX Kouki

Decided to put this out there for anyone interested. I'm not in a hurry to sell and might just keep building it if I don't get my asking price.

I purchased this car bone stock in 2006 with 107,xxx miles on it from an elderly gentleman who took very good care of it and have loved it ever since. The car currently has only 123,xxx miles so I really did not drive it much in the close to ten years I've owned it. Never even tracked it. It's been garaged or in covered parking it's entire life and many of the parts listed below are still basically new. There are a few items such as the Do-Luck bar stabilizers that are very rare (I'm pretty sure these are the only pair in the U.S.). It's an original AZ car so there is absolutely no rust and the underside looks great. EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD! YES EVERYTHING (besides the airbags of course and the Broadfield gauge setup was never hooked up... I do have the sensors and everything for them brand new in their original bags).

I know a lot of people will freak out over the price because of the KA but considering how hard it is to find one this clean, the amount of time/money put into it, working heat/ac, emissions ready/street legal and CLEAN TITLE I'm asking 11k. I can take 1k off if you bring your own wheels or I can remove the steering wheel for some money off. Add up the paid prices (most are priced low) listed below and it's a little over 15k in parts alone. There are a lot of smaller bits that I did not include. I have receipts for a lot of this stuff. Negatives:
-1 very minor 5mph accident from the previous owner shown on the carfax which he disclosed. He rear ended someone and basically had the front bumper replaced.
-Tires are kinda old but still useable
-Front passenger fender has very slight bacon to it
-AC compressor is kinda noisy when it's not on. Most people don't even notice it though.
-Makes a noise sometimes under decel. Most likely the infamous input shaft bearing noise that almost all 240s have. Again most people don't notice.
-Drives good but could use an alignment if you want it perfect
-There may be a small leak at the gas tank. Small wet line on the underside but does not drip.
-Paint is not 100% perfect... but still looks good overall.

Quite simply the cleanest OEM+ modified 240SX I've ever seen on Zilvia. Incredible. Another thing: 20 years from now, RX7s, Supras, NSXs, 300ZXs will all still be available on the used market because of the sizable portion of the enthusiast ownership dedicated to preservation. S14 Koukis (especially hardtops) not so much.

I'd trade you my SR'd S13 if you were interested. Let me know. I love my car but I want something with a KA (I know) and since I'm going to Japan next year this car would be preserved for another 3+ years while it' in storage.

Thanks, I'd rather keep it than part it out though. I sold some stuff off it last year thinking I was going to sell the car but decided to hang onto it for a little longer. Just don't want to make that mistake again.

Definitely worth your asking price. Kouki's are rare. Clean kouki's even more so. + yours is a hard top and base model. That custom bezel looks amazing. Best set up for guages I've seen. I'd consider that 330ci + cash if you were closer. The only way I'd consider traveling long distance (7 hour+ drive) is for a LS powered S-chassis.

It was a bitch. I ended up chopping the S15 mounts and drilling holes into the shaft piece to slide/plastic weld onto the S14 mounts. I messed the 1st pair up and took forever to find another set of S15 mounts.

Here's what the modified S15/S14 mounts looks like. I measured and correctly placed everything so these function just like OEM.

Have a 71 Datsun 510 w/ SR20DET, Racepak, and Haltech that I was planning on tracking but just don't have the time or money to finish. It is registered, running, and driving with headlights, turn signals, just needs a lot to be competitive and safe. Might consider a trade if you're interested.

It passed emissions here in AZ without a problem. I just need to hook up the neutral position switch on the clutch pedal to the ECU and it will pass emissions in Cali. I can do that before the car is picked up.
(you may need to swap to a California compliant catalytic converter or 02 sensor... I'm not 100% on that though)

I checked out this car yesterday, it's as pictured and described. The con list is accurate and I didn't spot anything else to add to the con list.

I was worried about the rear roll/pull but looking at the quarter panels in person.... I can tell a lot of time/work went into them, its a clean job, both sides look symmetrical. One thing I noticed right away on the test drive..... No squeaks/rattles in the interior cabin, now that's rare !

Seller is honest and down to earth, he's got 10 years of his life into this thing, keep that in mind when contacting him.

I thought on the drive back home I would be able to decide if I am going to pull the trigger, I'm still in limbo, for other reasons that have nothing to do with the condition of the car or the price.

If you're to far or don't have the schedule to see in person, this is one car I would definitely not have a problem buying "blind". So.Cal guys, you should be making the drive to view in person. Hope someone picks this up asap, take this option away from me, so I no longer have to think it over.

p.s. - sorry for the bump, I know you'll probably get 8 new people texting you now :keke:
