93 240SX DOHC. In regular driving conditions (0-4.5K) the plug wires are fine. But, when I start to push it a little bit (4.5K+) - the plug wire on #2 pops out.

I have had suggestions about the problem but I wanted to see what you all thought before a lay some cash on this... :mepoke:

That usually only happens if the sprak plug is loose and cylinder pressure is escaping...

Make sure thet plug is tight...I've had a friend blow one up out of the cylinder and into the hood of his S14!

Destroyed the plug wire, huge dent, etc...

holy crap thats nuts...haha

anyways, a friend was telling me that the spark plug wires have metal rings at the bottom of the wires that clamp to the spark plug head. but, i looked and all there is, is the metal contact and a rubber sleeve. i didn't make sense. i'm gunna try the tightening and see if it helps.

if not that, could it be anything else that could b causing this...?

make sure you dont put a whole lot of force into it. i forgot the torque settings by im pretty sure its under 20 ftlbs.

take out spark plug, take out plug. put spark plug on plug and see if it will make a good connection, if not, new spark plug wire, if it makes a good connection. tighetin spark plug to specs....

A friend of mine didn't tighten his spark plugs properly on his truck and it blew the spark plug out, too. It also managed to destroy the threads in there and he had to get a new cylinder head.
