Solved. 2 plugs behind the dash weren't plugged in
Bought an s13 and the dome light and clock weren't working. Checked all the fuses and found out the 10a room lamp fuse was blown. Replaced it and the click started working but not the dome light. Replaced the bulb, still nothing. Realized the harness wasn't plugged in. Big smile, thought it would turn on now! Plugged in the harness. Still no light
Any help here?

Any ideas? The glove box light isn't working either if that counts for anything!

See if the fuse blew again when you plugged in the subharness for the dome light.
Check for continuity at both ends of the subharness. If continuity is there, check for 12v power w/ the subharness plugged in.
Check for continuity on the chassis and the ground for subharness.
Check the door sensors in both door jams. Make sure they are plugged in, (I would do this first before the aforementioned).

The door sensor is there on the passenger side (and its working because the dash indicates when that door is open) but i don't have the sensor at all on the drivers side.. but when use the switch the dome light won't turn on. does the door sensor matter for this?
i'm going to have to follow the harness from the dome light to find out where it goes. hopefully i'll be able to do that without pulling the dash
