Anyone got experience with these wheels? Thinking about picking some up for drift wheels on my FC.

They're a decent size (18x9.5 +12 5x114.3) and pretty cheap ($600 for set of 4) and look like a VS-XX knock off.

I'm wondering why they're so cheap though, red flag?

Questions about cheap/knockoff parts typically illicit a standardised response from Zilvia members, and it isn't positive.

The wheels will indeed be cheaply made, and fake bolts on wheels are TERRIBLE and should be avoided at all costs.

I'd spend some time in the Used Wheels (http://zilvia.net/f/forumdisplay.php?f=21) section on the forum and see if anything interesting comes up.

Battles are the gold standard for cost/quality

But g6 wheels wont explode or rotas or xxr because not everyone is the fucking grand master drift rally road race champion they want you to think they are that needs a light weight high strength maximum performance wheel.

Yea as above, there's nothing fundamentally wrong with cheaper wheels when you understand that you get what you pay for.

MB Battles are a safe choice, and they don't look terrible like those G6s.

I have some on my Kouki. They are decently light and machining and finish are of quality. The size fits a slammed s14 really well with about 2 or so degrees of camber. So far they have handled the abuse of drifting really well. I like them and remember fake wheels or not a dirt drop, curb, wall tap were the wheel hits is going to mess up any wheel. Cheap is just more prone to crack during those incidents then bend.

Buddy,

Those wheels are so ugly. For not much more you can get a set of FN01r-c or rpf1 which are high quality for the low price.

I'll chime in since I used to have a set of these. I got them when they first came out since enjuku was running a preorder special or something like that (I don't remember) and they were stupid cheap, I think I paid around $400 or $450 for the set.

I used them on and off for a couple of years and they did ok. I did have one go out of round on the rear but my car sees much heavier use then the average car on Zilvia, so failures like that are to be expected. Here are my takeaways about them:

-They're not light but not crazy heavy either
-They look so-so, the face (on the 17's at least) sticks out a good bit and looks horrible unless your car is really low, but even then they don't look that great
-The sizing is a bit aggressive for my taste. I like to run 0 to -1 degrees of rear camber on my car and I had to run around -3 to -4 to fit the squares under stock s13 fenders depending on what tire size I was using, which made a noticeable difference in grip and tire wear on track

All in all they were a decent wheel for the price but I wouldn't buy another set. Same goes for MB battles since I've had one of those crack. FWIW I've been running Works on my car for daily use and Advans as spares on track for awhile now and haven't had any wheel issues since so take that for what you will...

Here's what they looked like on the car in case you were wondering:

Ended up giving them away with my beater coupe when I sold it lol

Having never owned a set of "knock off" wheels, I noticed a trend. Prior to the last 6 months I would have said buy whats in your budget. Now fast forward the BMW community purchase wheels that would be consider "knock off" and I seen a lot of comments on cracking. 2 weeks again in Quantico I need a FR-S or similar with knock off wheels, I noticed buy the way the was sitting it had a least a flat tire. Wanted around to the other side and the FL wheel barell was gone, and rear was jacked. Granted Im not sure if the car had an impact the wheels didn't hold up well. I figured if a company sells wheel they have to meet a DOT safety standard, Im starting to reevaluate that.

God they look so damn tacky. I can understand the G33's, but I have no idea why everyone goes for these. They look fucking retarded, and this is coming from a guy who used to run steelies.

So if the g6 wheels are so ugly then I guess work vs xx are too. And ever other mesh wheel with a lip. Again opinions are subjective. And before you comment that real wheels are stronger and that whole schpil, I understand that. Put that aside and compare the style. They look almost the same. Exactly like work miesters and varrstoen reps of those.

If you look at the G6's in person you can TELL how bad they are, they look cheaply made. You could show a female a set of G6's and any other legit mesh style wheel and she'd be like "those ones are probably more expensive/better" to the latter.
I don't know much about purses but if i got handed some shit leather china bag and a real designer hand bag... i could probably tell the difference.
I didn't think the G6's were bad till i saw them in person.

Kis4Kouki

Exactly they aren't the best quality wheels. When you have a set of works or weds you can clearly tell the difference. But for a set of drift spares I think they would be just fine.

Just buy real wheels, christ

If you think G6's look even close to the same as VSXX's you are fucking high and brain dead. Possibly one of the dumbest things I have ever heard a 240 kid say. VSXX's look nice. You can tell the quality just by glancing at them. G6's look terrible, and only get worse the more you see them.

Exactly this

You need to have your fucking head examined if you think G6s look anything at all like VSXX

I had some and I went over a curb pretty hard, definitely thought atleast one would be cracked or bent but they were fine. And 9.5 +12 is perfect width for 240 with stock suspension arms and rolled fenders

That all depends on how you define beauty. Some people look at beauty at a totally superficial level; ie, how does it look, I don't care about anything else. That's fine if appearance is all you care about. However, many people find beauty in construction, quality and function. As such, a cheaply made cast wheel with glued on bolts will never compare to the true multipiece wheel it's trying to replicate, even if they do look "kinda" similar.

The somewhat flippant Ferrari analogy above is actually totally fucking accurate.

I find my mpg and ride quality degraded with square wheels. However my initiations were much snappier, and they do make passenger titties bounce like popcorn.

You can't say "opinions are subjective", but preface it by telling us what our opinions should be based on your opinion :ugh:.

It's not some sort of magical caveat that stops a person from stating their actual opinion.

It's not an issue of reading past the first sentence. It's an issue of having read the same first sentence over and over again and then reading the same following sentences over and over again. NICO club will tug on your peepee, though. Post this thread there.
