No...that would look like total shit.

215/40-17 is too small...looks likr rubber bands, and exagerates how big the wheel well gap is.

225/45-17 is the proper diameter for 17X8 wheels.

225 will rub depending on how low u are. 215s or better in my opinion, i like the flexability of them

Yeah, but that's only 10mm.

Kumho 712s in 225 are skinnier than a Dunlop FM901 in a 215 width...so that's not an absolute.

But I agree that 215/45-17 is acceptable but small-ish...215/40-17 is not...

I'm running a 17x8 in front with a 215/40 sized tire. It's slightly stretched, but not crazy stretch. I do have to be extra careful on speedbumps and potholes. I use to run 225/40 in front and didn't have any rubbing issues because I have a +14 offset. I'll take a better pic later and post 'em up for ya..

criminy that's bad. hahaha.

215/45 is great. 215/40 is a little short.

The 4-lug 17x8 FN01R-Cs are +35 offset. That'll probably rub coilovers up front, but with stock-type struts it'll clear just fine with a 225.

I'm sure there's pics of the wheels you want if you do a search for wheel pics or something. You'll find what offset would suit you best also.

225/45-17 is the proper diameter for 17X8 wheels.

235/45 on 17x8 for me. Feels good.

I have 245 on a 17x8, or 16x8, but that is just me. :)

I have an s13 coupe and I'm thinking 225/45 Toyo T1s on 17x8 +35 FN01R-C's with KSport coilovers. Is that going to work, or am I going to rub?

An 8" wheel with a +35 may rub the coilover, no matter what tire size is on it.

My old 7.5" wheels with a +35 had maybe 3mm of clearance from the lip of the wheel to the coilover spring...and 225 tires rubbed badly.

But those K-Sport coilovers may have more room than my Tein HE...???

Anyone else have a similar setup?

I use 225/45 on a 17x8 +30. not even close to rubbing with strut/spring combo.

i dont like 215/40 on 17x8's. looked goofy in my car.
