Im trying to find out how many people are really interested in a KA intake manifold. IF there is a "real" intrest they can be made through my friends shop and he also has connections with someone that has a cnc machine.
the design will be somewhat like this.

I know you kat guys want one cuz i know i do.

that would be nice and all, but only if it can make decent gains on an n/a bolt-on ka. obviously KAT's will benefit, but will the lower hp guys?

I'd def. Pick one up for my KA-T project.

if it puts the throttle body in the same place as s14 SR, so that we can use s14 cold pipes then yes, it would be worth it.

Use FMax or XSE pipes. If the throttle body moves, nobody will buy it.

more companies make intercoolers for s14 SR's, it makes more sense to make as many parts work for KA as they do with SR, i.e. the new ssautochrome manifolds that allow usage of SR downpipes and hot pipes.
The stock 240 trottlebody is in an odd position requiring an extra bend at the end anyways. It wouldnt be smart to design an expensive intake to work with one companies aftermarket kit, when it could be made to work like a popular OEM part.

speaking of ssatuochrome bottom mount ka manifold i heard they crack... can they be reinforced and how?

I'll buy it! I've been looking for this for like forever...

if you make it available w/o a specific TB size it wud be nice, since I cud use a an assortment of GM TBs from 80-90mm and have it port matched. A very nice application to use on a KA, would it be top-feed or side-feed injector applications. How wide and thick are the proposed velocity stacks. And this would constitue the use of using a different length throttle cable

q45 throttle body would pwn ok there some interest imma let this thread go for a few days and see how it goes

according to editors of SCC, any tubular steel manifold will crack eventually. You can brace it, or use a flex pipe to help reduce stress. And if it cracks you can weld it back together.

Depends on the thickness of the tubes.. and the design. If you build a tubular manifold with schedule 40 weld L stainless.. I can almost promise you it won't crack if it's welded properly. When you build a turbo manifold out of material that's meant for building N/A headers.. sure, it's going to crack. N/A header will never see the kind of heat/stress that a turbo manifold does.

any idea on the price?

I would be interested, but I would like to see some testing and research done before the product is released to the public.

If it weren't so shiny and you have checked it for gains then I would call it a next investment. :bigok:
Furthermore, does anyone know how the engine would react with the diameter of the plenum (I think that's what it's called) being bigger than the intake ports? Or better yet does it make the intake mani's design less efficient?

design looks like a very similar one found on a RB25 s13 fastback that was yellow a while back.

Juan: there's so much to fluid dynamics......... it's nearly impossible to figure all that out and product something that will actually work.
this is good for kat guys, but that's it. for those of you who want it for n/a, you've still got some learning to do.
