Slim 6 1/2 speakers?

Hello , I want to make custom speaker plates for my front speakers and I was wondering which speakers are slim enough to fit? Also ppl mention MDF as the material of choice when making speaker plates, sorry to sound noobish, but what is MDF?

Medium Density Fiber..Same material used in quality sub woofer boxes. Bad thing about spacers, is that sometimes they extend the speaker so far it will hit the door panel.

Usually lower model speakers come with a slimmer magnet design.

I test fitted my polk dx series 6.5" seperates in my s14, and the speaker trim had to be trimmed down just a lil bit. And sometimes you can cut the back of the speaker basket, so that you can fit a larger speaker magnet. Just make sure your window can still roll down when you cust the basket.
