View Full Version : Undecided to the 17x9 +15 or +22 wheels, help!
Ive checked almost every fitment thread on all the forums and checked rimruck. As well as google and asking around.
I have a stock bodied S13 and got sure which wheel offset to go for.
Any one have any pics or opinions?
Thanks!

roll fenders. Go 15. May require some work up front. Depends how far your willing to go with it.

Depends on how low u are going to be set at, and the tire sizes are key

Are you on coilovers? Either of those options should clear front coilovers, but the +15's should give you a little more breathing room between the wheel & the shock body. But the +15 will make it a tiny bit harder to fit the max amount of rubber up front. Definitely should roll fenders with either choice.

if youre looking to fit meatier tires, go with the +22 (which fit just fine all around, but you will need a flat roll with no pull). i run 17x8.5 +30 and 17x9.5 +38 with 225/40R17 and 245/40R17 and i have zero rubbing issues. plus i prefer the no poke look (theyre not sunken battleship either). 17x9 +22 would be my choice.

Check the Silvia aero thread for my latest post. Currently running 9J +15 with 215/40, 25mm extended LCA, -6 camber
It really depends what size tire/camber you want to run up front.
My LCAs are 10mm max longer.
I will be running 215/45/17 tyres
I have coilovers, rolled fender etc I was running 17x9.5 +12 but they were too wide for my liking and stuck out too much

Very nice! I like it. Maybe I should stick with +15. What specs are the rears?
I love it, exact same wheels and look I want! Just for a reference here was mine before, took me a while to hate it lol.

Why don't you just add more camber?

It was a super common size for my dad to get me for free through work so it worked out haha. Noooooo traction plus they were just for dekorashin anyway.
Then I got older.

I can't believe you checked Rimtuck & couldn't find the answer to this simple ass question. Personally, I'd roll the fenders 17x9+22 with 245/40/17's all around. http://www.rimtuck.com/search/thumbnails&make=Nissan&model=S13&diameterf=17&widthf=9&sort=1
Better yet, why are we even still helping instead of redirecting this to the Wheel Fitment Question Thread?

Get whatever the highest offset is that doesn't hit the coilover then use the appropriate sized tire. Hell if you can clear everything with a +35 offset do that. It'll just depend on your coilovers.

+ fits really nice all around with minimum poke and you don't have to run a crazy stretch. I have that size with a 235/40 all around on my stock body s13 hatch and it doesn't rub anywhere. I haven't even rolled the fenders, let alone pull them. I love the look.

I have a pair of TE37 17x9+15 for sale. Like on the s13 above :)
Protip: Hammer roll your fenders. You should be able to get +15 offset to clear easy with a 215.
I would go 215/40/17 on a 9" if you're planning on being slammed/very low.
You can always subtract offset from the wheel via spacer if need be, you can never add.

This is a buddies car with 17x9 +24 Offset. Forgot tire size sadly as this was taken a few years ago. The fenders are rolled flat with a slight pull. With +15 or +22 I highly recommend you roll and do a slight pull to the fenders. Its not that difficult.

if the wheel you're getting have same amount of concave or dish size in both offset choices. get the higher offset, you can always add spacers if needed.
