Does anyone make these anymore?

I've used search function with no luck.. looking for DMAX 180 vented hood or a good fitting replica, and rear 180sx instant gentleman's bumper.

Thanks for any feedback!

Thanks!! Is anyone actually running a VIS hood? From previous experience and from what i've heard from others, nothing VIS fits.

I'm running that same hood, the only problem I have is the hood hits the valve cover when it's closed but that's a problem with all vented s13 hoods from what I understand, but I love mine

My d max hood also hit my engine. I had an s14 sr on nismo mounts so that's about as high as a motor would sit.

yeah I noticed most people cut a hole so that part of the cover can stick through but I can't bring myself to start cutting on my $700 hood lol

Thanks for the input guys!! As long as the hood sits nice and flush with the body work, fenders and bumper thats most important for me.. my motor sits super low so valve cover clearance will not be a problem!

Fits nice, doesn't meet the bumper nicely because the bumper is sagging http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h217/siksilviasx/C11487D5-FF66-4159-910B-9F230B1D50DF_zpsfxydk2oe.jpg (http://s65.photobucket.com/user/siksilviasx/media/C11487D5-FF66-4159-910B-9F230B1D50DF_zpsfxydk2oe.jpg.html)

It's a GT1 replica bumper, GT1 is not OEM at all, it's fiberglass and its sagging because it has no support other than the zip ties that are holding it on

I just purchased one and it did not line up like yours. I had it replaced and still had the same problem. I even fitted it on another car and it did not line up in the same area around the fender. I will post pictures when am at my computer

LOL yeah that's why I spaced mine upwards. Hate it how it wouldn't sit flush.

D-MAX fit perfect on my and my friends car along the fenders, lights and bumper

LOL dude that's because it's hitting the valve cover lol, it has nothing to do with the batch, mine looks the exact same way, you have to cut the hood so the cover can poke through in that spot or put the spacers at the back or just deal with it like I did lol

A family size box of wild berry pop tarts, season 3 of full house on VHS, and some pogs with a batman slammer should suffice

currently my busted up d max hood fits okay. its tight to close on my latch but nothing some widening the bolt holes some more could fix

Zilvia standards! It was cut multiple places so it was not making contact anywhere and it still bowed like this around the fenders.

slow40sx
09-14-2015, 08:24 PM
I can see from the picture you didn't cut it in the spot it needs to be cut at, if you cut it right over the very front of the valve cover it will sit flush, people do it all the time

^ exactly. a high quality product, such as the above, requires these tiny modifications to ensure accurate improper fitment.

I actually did do the trimming after the pictures and wouldn't mind doing modifications if it would fit. I do not have any current pictures of the fitment but it was the same after the trimming. If you guys think spending $500 or $700 and having to do "some" modifications and it still might not fit is worth it then go a head. My intentions are just to give my review of the product. The other side of the hood fit fine here is a picture below.

That looks like a bad mold/hood, since it sits leveled with the inner side of the headlight cover but it's sits higher on the outside. That's not due to it hitting the motor because I had that issue with my d max and it fit perfect along the edges.

I bought the ED hood a while ago and it isn't even the same one as they have pictured on their site. The vent is in the middle of the hood, not where the dmax one is, and not where their own image shows...

It isn't a problem if you just want a hood for looks, because all their will do is cool your coil packs... I needed a functional one, however.

I was looking at RHD japan the other day and shipping a dmax or Koguchi hood is around 1K or less. If that VIS is 800, I would way rather get something I know would fit well.

slow40sx
09-15-2015, 06:51 AM
Yeah I was originally gonna get the extreme dimensions one as well but I did some searching for the actual product picture and noticed the vent was in the wrong spot, the only exact replica they make of a Dmax hood is the VIS one, there are other Dmax knock offs but the vents are slightly smaller and shaped a little different, in the end I'm very pleased with the VIS hood

no no no, you guys got it all wrong

its *supposed* to be higher on one side, its like your hood has the "gansta lean." the driver side is raised to allow cooling for the turbo.

afterall, if you wanted something that fit perfect you'd keep it stock. now, who wants to do that? like... seriously.

with a hood like this, when people see you pull up at krispy kreme or some local boba joint - they KNOW you mean business.

I mean honestly, when the car is all done, low on proper fitting/looking wheels with nice aero and paint, its gonna look rad, I understand its an expensive hood, mine was $700 so for that fuck ton of money for just a hood, you want it perfect and it should be, however I could give a fuck lol, mine fits nicely apart from the driver side like yours but all together when the car is all done I don't even notice it anymore, its a good looking hood, I think its the best looking S-chassis hood next to BN, of course that's my opinion

Just priced out a Koguchi Power hood from RHD japan and its $985 shipped to me. A real dmax one is a bit less. IDK why you guys dont just get the real thing if youre spending all that money.

the dmax hood is my favorite hood and back when I bought the VIS one, the real Dmax hoods weren't readily available, believe me I tried lol
