Sr20det with gtx2976r dyno graph

I do not post on here much but I have not found any other websites with a dyno graph with this turbo. This is a gtx2976r .86 a/r on a built sr20det. mods are as follows

hks cams (specs unknown came with a spare head I bought)
brian crower +1mm oversized valves
supertech dual valve springs with titanium retainers
3 angle valve job
supertech exhaust valve guides
wiseco 11:1 Pistons

It is tuned with nistune at 18psi. unfortunately nistune and my z32 maf were hitting a limit if we tried to go higher. It still has a stock intake manifold and the only thing done to the exhaust manifold is that it was heat coated. The first image is a comparison to my s15 spec r turbo both turbos were tuned at 18 psi. The gtx2976r gained almost 100hp at the same boost. Murica Motorsports did all of the work including installation and tuning. This is a drop in turbo for the sr20det. Here is a link to the exact turbo I purchased

I like this very nice. hows the response? I'm thinking of doing close to the same setup i was on the fence on the turbo either a gtx3871r or the turbo you have now. was there any reason why you didn't go the the gtx2871r. any pro or cons with the turbo and info would help greatly

I think it is a mistake to try and squeeze 400~ from a stock T-25 manifold.

I feel like a top mount T3 flanged turbo (even the identical turbo- its not the turbo's fault) would have produced more torque, much sooner. You lost 100+ ft lbs of torque at 3600rpm, it looks like.

I didnt look at the compressor map, but if you are moving 400whp worth of air and have access to E85 there is no reason to be sitting at 18psi. That could have been done on 93 octane. Your E85 is ideally suited to 25-28psi of boost. It looks like you need to ditch the maf and run a real stand-alone with a MAP sensor (even a d-jetro would do) and have a forged piston (not sure if you do) to take full advantage of a 25psi capable turbo on an sr20det with E85. Unfortunately, the cost of a stand-alone and paying a tuner is likely to exceed the cost of a complete 2jz-gte engine, capable of 550-600rwhp with a SAFC and some larger injectors (and pick a turbo to support).

I'm running 11:1 compression wiseco pistons so I have to run e85. Plus we don't have 93 octane in az. You are right though I wanted to run 25 psi but my maf and nistune wouldn't let us get there. 18 psi isn't even in this turbos efficiency range. I am also still on a manual boost controller And need to switch to an electronic one eventually. It is a little more laggy than my s15 turbo but I'm happy with the way it drives. This is my daily driver and it's very streetable. I will be switching to aem infinity soon and will have it retuned. I went with this turbo because I want to see how much power I can make on stock manifolds and this is the best turbo for that I believe.

Newboost the only bad thing with the turbo is the little bit of lag. However if you go with a .64 ar it will probably respond a lot faster. I would highly recommend this turbo to anybody who wants to keep it as simple as possible. It's also a great sleeper turbo. It should easily make 500+ horse as a bottom mount turbo which is pretty awesome.

Keep us updated, I hope more people can pitch in as I am curious what the gtx2976r graphs would look like. This turbo is a potential candidate for me in the future as I progress.
