Anyone had this problem?

is that a top mount manifold ? I guess it would be...

That must really suck.

wow what kinda turbo is that? (size make trim etc)

Doesn't that manifold have dual bolt patterns for t3 and t4? To me, from the picture it looks like you don't have the turbo lined up with the right holes.

Turbo (http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/gart3to450tr.html)

some kinda msg length

Correct, the exhaust side of the turbo(t3) only lines up with one bolt hole on the manifold flange(a t4 bolt hole). It wont get any closer to the correct holes because the turbo is already hitting the brake master cylinder. Oh yeah, the compressor outlet is like a 1/4" from hitting the fenderwells.

damn, that sucks, i have one but im waiting for my turbo to install it....

Thats the problem with that manifold. It was supposed to have the same placement as the revhard manifold(what i've heard). the revhard manifold is designed for an on center t4 turbo. Which hardly anyone runs now a days.

If you swap to a non-abs brake mc and booster it may fit.

That's an idea. Anyone know how much shorter the non-abs setup is? Would be nice if that will work. Still leaves me with one thing though. I took my turbo and manifold back to the car and looked again. Even if I rotate the compressor housing to point the outlet down, it looks as if the comp housing will be close enough to hit the fenderwell when I hit the gas. I suppose a hammer could convince the fender into giving me a little more room, just don't like the idea. I went back and looked at ssautochromes fitment pics. Notice that they dont have the comp housing on the turbo in those pics.

yup, god damn abs. its about 1.5" thicker brake booster. look at my home page.

Very cool guys. Thanks for the help. I'll get back to my car monday and see what I can come up with.

hit the fenderwell when I hit the gas.

im guessing you mean having the engine torque and have the turbo hit your fender? if so...try using metal engine mounts like my friend chris did.

check out his site:

edit: found the pic

It looks like the SSA mani is very close to the placement of a revhard, in which case the only turbo that works nicely as far as clearance is the t4 on-center housing. As for the bolts, you can create new ones, get a t3 exhaust housing with a t4 footprint, make an adaptor plate, or swap flanges.

if you want i think you could find some way to angular mount your master cylinder. if you take it out youll notice theres some play and that bar should work at different angles up to a certain point. maybe you can make a small angle spacer to offset it. anyone know if that could cause any problems? i would DEFINITELY take it out and give it a nice healthy ceramic coating and wrap it with heat tape (hey im paranoid)

You'd be much better off just getting the correct turbo.

Anyone had this problem?

The 4 bolt discharge Garrett T3 housing WILL NOT fit on the SSA manifold. You have to use a 5 bolt discharge housing and it will fit just fine. The 4 bolt housing comes out too far, as you can see. The 5 bolt doesn't stick out as far. I used a Precision SC61 on this manifold with no problems in a customer's car.

would this manifold work for me, with my turbonetics t3/t4 T04E50 w/ .63 A/R? thats the turbo i already bough, if this mani wont work, which one will?

No cause thats the same turbo as his, except you have a 50 trim (very nice turbo BTW)...

A custom job/fab'd SSA, JGS or revhard will work (lil less the SSA)

will this turbo fit on the ssautochrome topmount manifold?

Pretty good chance its not going to fit. The inlet flange on an on center t4 turbine is "on center" with the turbos axis. that one isn't.

That pic is of a tang. divided exhaust housing.........it would be pointless and retarded to run that on an undivided manifold.

so what size t3s' will fit on this manifold? if any?
