It is very unfortunate that everyone feels that way about the site. I always see threads here bashing us for no reason whatsoever, and it's always the same people for the most part. The guy that started that thread does not in anyway represent my site. Actually, the only person that accurately would represent it, it’s me, since I am the owner. Everything else is an opinion, like the ones here.

Seriously though, how close minded do you guys have to be, to seriously believe everyone on 240SXFORUMS is a complete idiot or some eRacer? I can name many members who have tons of knowledge about 240s on our site. Anyhow, I just wanted to post because I get tired of seeing all this hate towards my site, when I have never done anything to anyone here, or any other site about 240s to warrant all the negativity and hate towards mine. In fact, the only thing I have ever offered is my help. That goes to any fan of the 240sx, and not just the members on my site. West himself could probably tell you, I have been nothing but friendly to him or any Zilvia member for that matter.

Don't worry, you aren't being a dick, it's just your opinion of how I should run my site. My whole theme from the beginning was to be laid back, especially on noobs. They want to learn just like you did and I did. Because you didn't start at the level you may be at now. A bunch of sites I visited back when I was starting to learn about SRs, quickly shot down noobs, sometimes it was even uncalled for, but the cool thing was to shoot down noobs. So I wanted a forum that would not be so harsh, that every response was not going to be SEARCH.

Sure, it's fun to be an elitist, and feel as though you are superior than other people because you may know a bit more about a MOTOR or a CAR, not life in general. I guess I’m just not like that. I rather reply with a response, rather than a SEARCH. Or maybe point them in the right direction. Does it get old sometimes? Sure it does, but so does my job, yet I still do it. Could they have searched and saved some times? But what if they don't didn't know what to search for? Or the search turned up something else? I am just saying, I could sit there and edit all the stupid threads and posts, but why? Because it bothers a few people? Even if I did ban and erase a bunch of threads, people would still feel the same way, and judge the site the same way. With all that said, we continue to grow, so we must be doing a little something right. But I do see your point.

Personally, I feel no animosity toward other forums. The only animosity I'm feeling is towards 'Sony', who went & complained to everyone about how he was mistreated. It's just that fact that he's playing the victim that bugs me, but I know guys like him will never admit to their own wrongdoing.

I always thought NICO and 240sxforums as newb freindly sites and Zilvia and freshalloy for people who at least have a basic understanding of cars. But of course thats not always true. Most Zilvians welcome new members UNLESS they ask stupid questions or questions that have covered a billion times before. Zilvia will be Zilvia, and 240sxforums will be 240sxforums. Things change. I actually like watching how these forums change as the people come and go. I've been with FA since 01, and vowed to never join Zilvia (hence the late join date) but as I started to come here more often, I realized that it had evolved(plus it's more fun). Hopefully 240sxforums will evolve into it's own. But you have to look at the people (professionals)(age) who are on Zilvia and FA. Unfortunately, those people stay away from 240sxforums, and NICO.

Here's how I see it:

Freshalloy : Best for tech stuff, not a lot of BS
Zilvia : 2nd to Freshalloy when it comes to info, some BS going on
NICO - Lots of young, misinformed people who just got 240's and want to make them "fast." I don't see a lot of DIYer's either, so not a lot of good info. I see a lot "How much is it to get XXX installed?" People are touchy over there too, I get flamed for correcting people all of the time. The FAQ is useful though, sometimes, when the articles aren't cluttered.
