S1 Rb25 in my 91' 240sx.

Few days ago my battery light came on, car died. Threw a new batt in and drove it home. I redid the grounds off the battery, it ran ok until it happened again. Pulled the alt out, redid the connections for them .. I even soldered the cocksuckers. Had the alt tested and it passed with flying colours.

Slapped it in today, hooked up my meter and watched it start charging at 12.2v, revved the car up it jumped to 14v. Over a 10min time lapse it slowly dropped ..13v..12v..11v.. I shut it off in frustration went inside poured myself a drink went back out to start it up.. only charging at 9v now!

So zilvia.. what the fuck?

-voltage at alt is same at battery terminal so wires are ok
-had nothing running (elec fans, speakers, blower motor, etc)
-the alt does not have a direct ground, im also not sure if it needs one. Just thought id share this
-once I redid the grounds the car ran noticeably smoother

I've been running it without one.. I have a 2 pin plug, my B terminal(14v) then another wire connected to the chassis of the alternator that snakes into the harness. Nothing seems to run directly to ground
