My frame rails are a bit beat up but still straight, just pushed in from people improperly jacking up the car. Now what I am looking into is fabricating some stronger frame rails that will replace the factory ones. I know this is possible but it will take a lot of time and effort, but would the outcome be a little stiffer chassis?
Nissan sells the rails... for about 45$Cdn each.

You could weld a box to the floorboard, doubling up on the rail, but unless it was one piece from end to end and seam welded you wouldn't see much gain.

Are you serious? The frame rails are only $45cdn?
I think I would use the stuctual foam. Maybe you could just weld onto it like they do transmissions to make them stronger. Dunno if it would work though.

Wait. So you didn't buy the part that goes from the front to back?
No. It starts at the front wheel and goes all the way to the catalytic converter.

i had teh typical 240 frame rot cut out and rebuilt for $180 cdn dollars
i suppose you could just extend the work past that to strengthen the part of the frame rail towards the middle of teh car, or just use a two by four to spread the impact of the jack
