Here is the plan, go to Auto Zone, buy z32 caliper, switch with OEM on my 240 SX 1989. And check for fitment. Here is my question: Can I do this test without the real z32 rotor??? Im not sure if the size of rotor is different or a factor when checking for clearance. Please understand that Im not asking "if the caliper will fit my wheels" famous question, thats what im trying to find out with this test.
thanks
PS. Will auto parts take parts back if using the excuse of "sorry I order the wrong part" if need arises to where I cant use the caliper???? :x:

the caliper extends beyond the rotor at all points.and you wont ever have a rotor clearing the wheel problem :duh: come on man, rotors arent bigger than the caliper lol

OK let me redo my question......Im not checking rotor clearances :bash:
Im going to check for caliper clearances while leaving the stock rotor on, will this be a factor???
I dont want to get a z32 rotor for testing purposes if it wont make a difference in size.....
Does the z32 rotor and OEM rotor change in size, offset, etc??? I just want to know any variables before I test the calipers....specifically when it comes to the rotors.... :werd:

the caliper bolts to the spindle the same way regardless of rotor. just so you understand that you cant use your stock rotor to actually drive with the Z32 calipers...........if you are just checking clearance for wheels.
where exactly in lower alabama are you?

All Im trying to do is check and see if I can run the z32 calipers with my wheels, before of making the commitment of buying all components and then the calipers wont work with my rims. No Im not planning on driving around with the OEM rotors  :D

z32 are 30mm rotors yay so htey are different size
and yes you can mount the calpier witohout your z32 rotors.

it will work fine.......rotor wont make any difference on caliper position

i dont get why people are making things so complicated.... anyways, just take off ur stock caliper place it somewhere where it doesnt dangle on the brake line, take off the rotor.. bolt it on so it goes.. bolt, then spindle, then caliper and check for wheel fitment...
