There are inferior copies (on Ebay) made of aluminum that are not as strong and are prone to bend and flex. These suspension components under go massive stress and entire weight transfer of the vehicle. A daily driven or street car is subjected to even more blunt or shock force due to street hazards and road conditions there fore we do not recommend the use of aluminum for these components.

These are designed for longevity with uniquely incorporated zerk fittings to internally lubricate the ball joints. Damage over time due to lack of lubrication to the ball joints requires replacement of the joint or the entire rod or arm. This design will save your investment.

SUB FRAME SPACERS:

The idea behind a sub frame spacer is ingenious. Not only do they perform, they are easy to install and do not require dropping the whole sub frame. (Instructions included) They will also maintain a fairy nice ride. Cars with aluminum and Delran sub frame bushings can have a rather harsh and bone jarring ride. The spacers also increase the durability and effectiveness of the stock liquid filled sub frame bushings because they are compressed and will not allow the entire sub frame to smack up against the bushing during regular suspension travel. There is quite a bit of play in between these points in question without the sub frame spacers.

WHAT THE SPACERS DO:
They pre-load the stock rubber bushings so the body does not float separately from the sub frame. Stock, the body “floats” about an inch before the suspension even interacts with the driving conditions. This “floating” or vague, sloppy feeling is magnified with upgraded suspension modifications. Installing the spacers will prevent the body from “floating”. This gap between the body and sub frame is also the reason for wheel hop. Because the sub frame is mounted loosely, the sub frame is allowed to bounce up and down.

Pre-loading the stock bushings results in much more responsive handling and also greatly reduces wheel hop. By retaining the stock rubber mounts, it will also maintain a decent ride quality.

What do you use to grease the zerk fittings on your suspension pieces? The zerk fitting is too small for my grease gun and all the other grease guns I see at the store. Are you supposed to use one of those grease needle things?

My car still seems to ride ok despite not being greased... so far... hope nothing cracks.

I'm having the same problem w/ those fittings. I actually have the front tension rods & rear upper control arm (got em a while back). NO ONE really has these fittings. I have asked all different sponsors who carry similar ones, including CPARKPowertrix, and get the basically the same answer:

"No we do not carry the fitting, you can find it at any auto parts store." I've been to EVERY auto parts store around my neighborhood (Kragen, Autozone, Pepboys, Sears, Super Autobacs, NAPA, various mechanic shops) - NO ONE carries the fittings.

Also, the grease needle will not work because of the tilt of the needle - the grease will just leak out.

I've wasted about $50 worth of grease gun, grease, and A LOT of possible fittings. Nothing.

Sorry to post so unsuccessfully, but I've been trying to find fittings that are suppose to be available at "any autoparts store."

If anyone has fittings for sale or know a specific place I can get them, please post.

I believe this is very relevant info for this buy.

No worries about not immediately greasing the ball joints as they are pre greased right before packaging. We recommend regreasing the ball joints during scheduled alignments. In ill-climate weather areas were there is a lot of road debris, etc. We recomend physically wiping the ball joints clean with a rag from dirt and any build up when you get the chance. During oil changes is a good barometer on how often to do this or once a month.

We are working on getting the right size grease gun fittings to lube the zerk fittings. Some of the guys have said they found fittings that work at NAPA auto parts store as they have taken the arms in and sized up the closest fitting possible. We have used a slightly oversized fitting to pump grease into the fitting and is seems to work just fine. (it is just a little bit messy as there is some overage that is easily cleaned off.)

In the mean time, here is what one of my customers has done and what we have duplicated which was easy and very inexpensive:

“I took a needle tipped grease gun adapter and cut the angled portion of the tip off so I had a flat surface. Then I drilled out the hole so that it just fit over the zerk fitting (9/64"). It worked great!”
