stupid lug nuts!

I was planning to do a take the wheels off for multiple purposes today and I found out that its not the regular lug nut you'd see. Its basically a reversed version of what a normal lug would be. Ive done some research with no good results.

What should I do and would I need an adapter? If so, what size? would the 12x1.25 still fit?
