$330? I thought the current market value for these is between $60-$80.

just so people can be informed when looking at a product like this. They were originally designed for skyline ignitions, which have the same profile, but a different depth, specifically longer than the S chassis ignition cylinder. These will work on an S chassis, but they are not a PERFECT fit, again - the depth.

Yeah I know they are discontinued. Well 2yrs they sold here for $80, I'd buy this one, but nowhere near even 2/3's your expected selling price /: if it's something you could work out with me, PM me, if not good luck with your sales!!! But eBay has jacked up prices by private sellers lol, you should have searched here to give you an idea what they go for

First thing I did was search here, but all I got was "wanted" threads, one even saying "money not an issue" lol
Ill probably fire it up on ebay, not bothered if it sells or not

Mine was made to fit the S13, I see no part number on the box or listed with this so you can't say with certainty this is the skyline 10p version.

Supply and demand. there is so little supply and demand is moderate from real enthusiast. Pay to play and have nice shiny things. I held on to mine 3/4 years before I worked up the nerve to actually have it cut. I personally did not pay any where near this price, but if I had the cash and I really wanted this I would make an offer. These are all but gone at this point.
GLWS on this rare item. IMO use it.

No I completely understand you on the supply and demand and even rarity, but I don't understand a $250 mark up? In Japan these keys were sold when offered for $8, and in '05 when people started bringing them here they sold for $35, in '09 they were selling at $60ish, and last time I checked in '13 they sold for $85ish. Between '05 and '13 there is a 8 yr gap making it a $50ish increase, at that rate this key should be around the $100 range. If he bases himself on a single seller on ebay, does that mean if a private seller on some website other than s chassis sells a rare item for $10 today, that he will sell his item for $8 or less? I want this key but I'm not ready to pay anywhere near $300 or more /: And I'm going based off on sale threads here, so I apologize if I'm mistaken but here they are ----->

Tough to grasp why an uncut key is garnering a price tag that would have covered my 2 most recent trackdays combined costs (3 hours of track time total)!

Prices for items do not always follow a steady trend especially towards the end of their availability.
The market price of an item is determined by what the market is willing to pay for it at any given time.
Take for example our cars. Market price is WAAAAAAY higher than what KBB says they should be worth lol.

I don't see the market willing to pay his expected price. I'll use the famous line here, "This is Zilvia" lol

He probably won't sell it for his asking price but I'm sure he won't knock $100 off it either. Some people just get fixated on particular items and just have to have it. That will be the case when this one sells.

Rare indeed, I bought one of the ones in the post you listed. I bought another one off yahoo auction Japan. I've got two uncut 8 point keys.
A fair value for seller and buyer is between $175-240 ish. But it all depends on who wants it and how motivated the seller is.
That does NOT mean the key is worth that. It's just a fair value for a rare discontinued item.

I've actually been looking for it for quite sometimes.....I got one already cut that came with my car....Yes, I really want to own a brand new key too....but for $300ish, I may need to wait a bit more for something cheaper to show up......

Last few I saw went on ebay for between $260 and $330 bucks. I bought a set for my brother and dad back in '04 for 50 bucks apiece, I then got one through a local dealership for 70 a few years later, back in '11 I found six of them at a dealer in Mississippi of all places which I snagged for 39ish apiece, and now they're pretty much non existent here in the states unless you get lucky and even on the yahoo auctions I almost never see them pop up.

Thanks for the misinformation but that is the Nismo key p/n: KEY00-RN008 (you can tell by the key "shoulder"), so it's a perfect fit for any S13/14, Z32, any 8pt Nissan key. The longer key p/n: KEY00-RN010 will work on Z33s w/out the immobilizer, R34s, S15s, and the older model Nissan cars as well they'll just have to be cut a tad shorter, or they'll stick out of the ignition a tiny bit more than normal
