Sorta a comment, but if you have to ask then you don't need it?
Its pretty expensive to do but some of the benifits are reduced oil pan height (lower cg if you move the engine), reliable oil pressure, larger oil supply if you use a larger oil tank than the current pan, ability to mount the tank anywhere in the car, oil pressure on startup, keeps oil off of the crank which can free up hp. (It can also sap power since it needs an additional belt off of the crank to run it iirc).

yea, i doubt you have the money to do it. i also doubt the need for it in your situation unless your car is going to be a straight up track car

what makes you think he wants to do it???
hes asking a question about benefits/cons of it.
Says nothing like "YO! I wantz this shizit bad!" so stop hating.
He asked, thx247 answered.
BTW thx247 covered pretty much all of the benefits of it, so I doubt that anyone will have something to add to it.

Right on.
I think costs for a dry sump for a 240 would run around $2500 bucks for an ARE system. Not sure exactly. Probably check the nasport forums for more information.

Dry sump helps insure that the engine is never starved for oil during hard corning. It also allows the engine to be placed lower for better handling. Ussually, you add more capacity at the same time to help control oil temps.

A Greddy oilpan would be a "cheap" way to help keep your oil pick-up submerged during hard cornering.
