Hello everyone, I'm pretty new here to the forum, and the s14 game in general. I recently picked up a pretty hagard shell for $500, and have ideas for what I WANT, but I'm not sure they're reasonable or realistic, so I'm turning to the experts for some guidance and ideas.
This week, I managed to pick up a 95 s14 with pretty much nothing in it. Core support's half swapped (not welded in) hood's gone, front suspension is off of the car, no rear diff, garbage doors, no glass except a rear windshield and passenger quarter window, and a stripped interior.
A bonus part of the deal, which I honestly didn't notice at first, is the back end has been modified, and now has r33 tails, and a trunk lid with everything mostly lining up (I think I can make it work, just need a 6-pack, welder, grinder, and some patience...) The car also has an r33 core support, headlights maybe? and what looks like an OEM bumper to match (like I said, not that savvy on Nissans yet.)
I'd like to make this a minimalist, streetable track car, and At this point, I've gutted the rest of the car, and removed the old wiring since the previous owner made a rat's nest of crap out of the interior involving a fusebox in the trunk, and a crappy wire tuck job. So I could hypothetically get started on a simple rewire, cage, etc.. This whole project is overwhelming as a whole, and with such a barebones car, I'm wondering if I should take it one day at a time and show her some love? Or abandon the shell, sell off the r33 parts, and try to find a new candidate. I tell myself I'm actually ahead at this point since any car I'd pick up to build is going to get torn down eventually whether it's section by section, or all at once - interior, suspension, brakes, wiring, etc etc... So this would be a nice blank slate... So keep the r33 s14 frankencar? Or look for something more complete / cleaner... Sorry about the no pictures, don't have a photobucket yet... Pm me and I can hook you up with a facebook album if your curious, thanks!
