Anyone notice that s14 seats sit higher in s13s than the OEM seats?! Well I did... when I autoX, my helmet hits the ceiling. Maybe its hitting the frame from my dealer installed flip up sunroof... either way, it sucks.
There seems to be no way to custom mount the seat at a lower height, so I did what short bikers do... RIP out the seat stuffing... not all of it, just the middle section. It makes it a "bucket" seat... Heres the aftermatch:

No, im not writing this for no reason.... I have some pointers for doing this if others need to as well.
Needle nose pliers work best for unclipping the many rings holding the seat cover to the seat. Its a good idea to keep them on the seat in the open position, so when u reassemble it all, you dont lose any. No need to remove the lower seat from the frame, just take off the 2/3 bolts on each side so it can pivot out and you can access the clips. I put tape on the bottom so the foam doesnt crumble. It is about 1cm thick now.
The one CON to this project is that the seat cover has to stretch to reach the bottom of the mid section of the seat. Seems like sitting on a sharp object [keys] will break through the seat cover... So if you do this, sit carefully. The front bolster was untouched, so it is a bit higher than Im used to. Almost a "nut bolster," but bearable if you sit right...
PRO: the seat "sits" lower. The front and side bolsters are much more supportive. Time for some lateral Gs [i wish]! Its way cheaper than BRIDE or RECAROS! You can still be in stock class atuoX!
sorry no other pics, didnt have my camera while i was doing it...
