I want to switch over the ECU on my 1jz to an AEM infinity and run the AEM ver. 2 honda box 30-6050 on my s13 with an sr20. Is it possible to make the 30-6050 work with my sr20?

I don't see why not as long as it's wired up right. Using AEM's CAS disk gives the ECU the 12 crank/1 cam signal that you'd see in a B series (or similar vintage) Honda.

I tried using a 30-6051
Didn't work and it won't
Even after opening it/losing warranty and changing jumpers
Some hardware changes need to be made (ie. Unsolder resistors on the boards)

It's configured to read reluctor pickups, not hall/optical which is what the sr uses

I trie asking AEM for help but they gave me attitude and to sum it up. All they said we make a PlugNplay box for SR

I wouldn't bother with it if I were in your shoes

Ahhh... that would be a big change. Series 2 are kinda annoying in that respect that it's a physical hardware change to read a different type of pickup.

The stock CAS will output a Hall effect type signal.

Don't listen to the haters, Devhin. (haters = people who know what they're talking about).

You can do it.

Decided to just go with power fc.

Close, CAS outputs an optical signal which is very similar anyway

I ended up using a vipec instead just because AEM gave me attitude via email.
So now I have an AEM 30-6051 sitting collecting dust if anybody wants LOL

It doesn't output an optical signal, it outputs an electrical 0-5 VDC square waveform. Same thing a hall effect sensor does.

I'm running my SR on an AEM Infinity 6 with the AEM CAS disk installed. Wired it into the cam and crank hall effect inputs - works like a charm.
