i have a 95 and recently the car started to act up. in some of my recent post you can see that i changed the front crank seal. but i just got done with that today. when i started the car i get the CLUG CLUG CLUG noise before it starts and when it turns off. i dont know what happened, i was out of town when everything happened(cousin was driving it).

now that is all done im suspecting there is something wrong with the clutch, but it is new about 2-3 months(act-hd). i susupect the clutch because when i press the clutch in and rev it makes no sound, but when the clutch is not pressed and i rev it i get that clug sound. any ideas of what i could be? i dont want to go in the tranny again. too much of a hassle for me.

If the car is still driveable with no problem except for the hideous noise, then it can't be the clutch. It's probably something else. Try to find out where the sound is coming from.

yeah i just talked to a friend who is more knowledgeable than i, he say most likely a main bearing or thrust washer =*(

Yes most likely your throwout bearing or pilot bushing. Sometimes the throwout bearing isn't lubed properly. Either that or they usually gets worn out, but this happened to me with a non OEM throwout bushing/pilot bearing that came with the clutch kit. Ever since then I've replaced it with a Nissan OEM set.

You still gotta drop the tranny...

So how exactly do you lube the throw out bearing? when I replaced it, it really didn't look like i had any way to lube it up. Unless i let it sit in wd-40 over night or something.
