Ok so my brake lights keep blowing the fuse, and going through brake switches. I have the whole car torn abart and have cleand every ground I can find, still blows fuses. I need some major help guys. This is on my brand new 1989 240sx hatch. :newbie:

check the wiring to the brake button switch under the brake pedal, it could have developed a short, either way it soudns like u hav ea short somewhere

:rofl: Brand New '89 :rofl: Sorry that just strikes me as funny.
Anyway, I know you said every ground, but have you checked the grounding points inside the lights themselves? I've seen at least 4-5 240's that fixed whatever their brake problem happened to be by cleaning those grounds. Good luck. :D

check the wiring for the third brake light. look at the wires where the hatch meets the roof of the car. over time from opening and closing the hatch the wires get cut. .

Now that you say that my third lite is out and when the lights work befor the fuse blows the third light dosnt come on and the bulbs are fine. So I will try that at lunch thanx agine.
