Black top Power FC on a red top?

Will the Black Top Pwer FC work with a Red Top?

If not, how can you tell when your motor was made.

not sure if it would. i dont know if there are any different wiring on a s13 blacktop versus s13 redtop. i havent played with one. if there is you can just do a little pin changing to match with the blacktop fc. if you have a front clip check out the metal chasis plate on the firewall, you can tell from that info that year it came from. hope this helps.

if you wired it the same as the redtop then it should not make a difference at all

from what i remember. 2-5 of the wires are different. All you do is switch them around.

Yeah i must have called 20 different people for advice and no one could give me a straight answer. They reccomended that i just buy the redtop FC, but i can get a blacktop for WAY cheaper. Oh well i guess i have to just cough up more money 'cause a few who i talked to said "you will wish you hadn't done that if it doesnt work correctly, cause problems like that are a pain to diagnose." So meh....
