Here is my take on the paint situation.

I prefer to buy a kouki with original paint, for obvious reasons. That said, most original paint is ruined by now. Especially in Florida where the sun eats everything. So when I saw this paint, I thought to myself... Well what would I rather have, a clean kouki with an original ugly clearcoat peeling paint job, or this car with it's ugly non-clearcoat peeling paint job.

Pretty much the same deal, same situation, if you asked me. Either way the car would want paint. At least now it has something that isn't peeling off though.

And fwiw, I would totally rock this ugly paint. Call it the "green machine" and get some tribal vinyls that coincide, rock a 320rwhp sr and take names.

Well these cars are cheap, reliable, and can be very fast.
Cheap + reliable + fast... they used to tell me, pick two. Well, I find I can have all three with a 240sx. Its just having the knowledge and some basic tools goes a long way to getting there.

someone offered me 800 for my power fc. So I am thinking park the white car, sell power fc, use the cash to register this green one and be driving it, then it would be much easier to sell I think. I could have it up here with me in coconut creek, and I could spend more time detailing it and fixing small stuff like I usually do for fun. And the white one no longer needs maintenance, which is both difficult to believe and slightly annoying at the same time.

100% agreed. These are not 1969 Camaro SS level vehicles. They are older econo vehicles. They are worth nowhere near what some people are asking. It's crazy how much some people are expecting.

I think I have a fairly good grasp of what makes a valuable car. Production numbers, rust, frame rails, pinch welds, original equipment, original glass, vin tags, unremoved/altered bumper hardware, untouched wiring, no front end collisions, original headlight alignment.

You change just one of those things and yeah you have a $3000 hunk of metal that nobody should sink money into for a show car/race car. But a 240sx of any year with everything on that list is impossible to find, and it just so happens this is also a 98 making it the most rare, of impossibly rare 240sx starter project chassis in its class.

Of all the hundreds of 240's I have seen, this is the only one with everything on that list ready for action. It is literally a once in a lifetime opportunity and I Wouldn't even consider selling it unless I really needed the money. Even my white car with its thousands of mods doesn't have a frame like this.
