Im getting new tinted windows and taking my "purple" ones off, the residue that stays behind is a nasty one, I tried a combination of windex and alcohol and still took me hours to do the drivers window, any suggestions????

Or soapy water with a razorblade...or even the soapy water with "00" steel wool.
Most tint guys have only soapy water bottle hanging around the shop...'cause it does the job.

carb cleaner, just make sure you are in a very ventilated area, spray on, get out, put fan blowing thru open doors, get in and start rubbing with paper towels. comes right off.

Ammonia does a damn good job too.
for the rear window of my old S13, I sprayed ammonia on the window then laid plastic wrap over it. Let it sit in the sun for a few minutes and it'd soften the remaining adhesive enough to just wipe it off. The ammonia stinks, but the smell doesn't last.

go to your local Wal Mart and look in the auto section. you will find a tint remover and i used this. it works to an extent. spray the whole window with this. let it settle for about a minute, then remove with razor. should take it all off. if it doesnt repeat with a towel.

i used either 401 or windex (weaksauce compared to other listed), but can't stand smelling all those other heavy/strong smells,
live in socal, so the sun does most of the work, and it helps alot...

Same for me, but I used a mixture of ammonia and windex.

Tint-Off works every time and don't have to worry about damage.

dont take a razor blade to ur rear window unless u wanna lose ur defroster. a steamer is what most tints shops use
