i have an s13 redtop. i dont need globs of power so i want to go t28. but ive heard that from a buddy that put one on his redtop that it actually decreases power a tad bit... just wanted to know if it was true. he also said that when he got a different maf. a z32 one, he got the hp back... is this a must have? the maf? and to my understanding the t28 is a direct bolt on? am i wrong? i basically just wanted to know what i would need to make this work... i plan on sticking to low boost levels because this is my daily driver.

i just installed an s14 t28 about two weeks ago along w/a cheap megan racing manifold. there is a very noticeable difference (more power). as far as a direct bolt on well... if yours came with the hardlines then you can bend them to stretch on to the oil and coolant locations on the motor. but id really suggest to just get some braided hoses for these. itll make it a whole lot easier.

was the power VERY noticable, or was it just a slight gain? just wondering because i have an bb t28 in the mail right now and i dont know what to expect...

Wait a minute.. yes... yes! the Earth has just reversed it's direction, everyone!

What was the question again?

S15 T28 botls up but the oil/water lines dont reach (bend or get braided) and the inlet/outlet for air intake and the hotpipe wont line up. To line it up you need to cut & weld shit together (however you want) or get the KAZAMA plates that clock the turbo to the right angle.

This has been discussed many times.

i dont care why you got it..but your asking if it's worth it after you've already ordered it...but i understand you're feeling anxiety because there's something cool in the mail.

I made well over 300 with my GTi-R BB T28 and made over 350 on race gas...112 octane...But then again I do like power and I dont just have a stock redtop with a turbo upgrade.....The BB turbo spools really quick in T28 form and is more efficient (sp?) in higher boost levels.....

you want insane power upgrade to an SC61 or a T04E/B or strait T4.....LOL now thats a noticeable power gain....HEHE......

Define "well over 300rwhp" with your GTiR turbo.......dyno sheets? Also, a pulsar GTi-R turbo is not ball bearing. Id also like to see a dyno for 350rwhp on a pulsar turbo. I find that a lil hard to believe, even with good fuel. Not calling you a liar, id just like to see the dyno sheets. How much boost?

Do a Z32 MAF, and that will bring back the power, what do you have done? you maxed out you MAF that's why your losing power.

just bumpin this back up cuz id like to see the dyno numbers from a 350rwhp pulsar turbo'd car.

Me too cause I'm putting mine on TOMORROW!!! :hsdance:

it flows 33lbs/min so with cams and the right manifolds it is possible. Torque wouldn't match though. But that guy thought it was BB so he probably doesn't know what he is talking about.

Its a decent turbo, but i doubt you will see 350rwhp with one, ever. And if you did do it, itd be with a ton of boost, for a split second right before it fell right back down. Basically its not gonna happen.

Mine made 300rwhp/310 tq @ 16psi with 93 octane/Z32 mass air/S15 480's, usual supporting bolt ons, stock cams/manifolds

most power i have ever seen from an s15 turbo was 307hp..the s14/15 t28 upgrade will net you about 30HP on the dyno...

 It your friend lost power then he sucks. He could only loose power if he maxed out his maf, or forgot to hook up the waste gate flapper door arm.
Wow. I am shocked by the sheer technical knowledge tonight on the boards.

You are not understanding my reply. I was refering to the fact that there are many realitive threads about technical stuff on the boards tonight. Not the ususal ones like "sr or Ka" Or headlights wont go down.

Got it?

No. Should I? We have done sooo many diffs, and none have ever had a problem.

Hmm probibly not considering my car is a track car, and is not usually driven on the street. Besides I have a bunch of diffs laying around the shop.
Sorry.
