I hit a couple of local Pick n Pulls today. I hadn't been checking their inventory for a couple months and to my surprise there were 3 240's at the 2 closest pick n pulls. I really wanted to find a maroon fender and maybe a maroon shark nose bumper. To my dismay, all 3 of them were almost completely stripped. As I was about to walk away I noticed the car was a factory no AC model, and it had the plastic duct piece as well as the rubber hole block off for the firewall. I picked them both up for $8.07!

Using the gutted A/C box didn't bother me too bad, but it is always nice to have the right parts to do it right. Now my car looks like a factory no AC model.

This reminds me of the time I saw a near-mint pignose lip in a junkyard right by where I lived. Being a fairly naïve S14 owner at the time, I didn't think much of it until I actually bought an S13 quite some time later :doh:

Weird. After reading this I felt the urge to check out my local pullapart. I didn't find any 240's but I did find a hand saw, and I cut my dick off because I realized that reading this gave me dick cancer. Thanks.

to give this guy some credit, he's not talking about just the rubber caps - he's talking about the AC evaporator delete box, its called the HEATER DUCT.

Thats a really nice piece to have. Its was discontinued ages ago.

yeah, the evaporator box (27611) is replaced with the heater duct (27850N) in the (few) 240SX models that were not equipped with AC. The only benefit I see is that it is slightly cleaner and probably gives you just a smidgeon of extra space under the dash for stashing cocaine or other illicit substances.

It's OK, I'm too fat (even when I'm skinny) for GTR seats anyways!

You should post a WTB thread for it though, they're much more common on the east coast than CA. The trick is to find the non-A/C HVAC controller with the box and plugs.
