I received my Greddy turbo kit about a week ago and wanted to have those who have done the install look at what I have and try to tell me what I am missing. I took a bunch of pictures and fear that I may need some new hardware to complete the install. If any of my assumptions are incorrect please chime in and let me know. I have provided the following pictures to illustrate my parts I will draw reference to them throughout.

My biggest concerns revolve around the studs that came with the kit. I got 4 different types of studs. The number 1 are thick and long with a squared off center section. Number 2 is the same as the first but with a tapered center section. Both 1 and 2 have different threads on each end. Number 3 is shorter with the same threading on both ends. The number 4 studs (black ones) have a smaller diameter and do not appear to correlate with anything in the kit.

One of my fears is the manifold to turbo connection. I did not get any bolts and the studs that came seem to not be right for the job. The picture below shows the ends of each stud that will fit the nuts included in the kit, the nuts have the same threading as the mounting holes on the manifold.

This means that the only stud that can work to install the turbo to the manifold with the provided hardware is the short one, but they only included one of those studs in the kit. Now I could go purchase new nuts to thread over the different threads on the back of the long studs but they would bottom out on the center section show in the picture again causing problems. These are the number 1 studs.

So if those little studs are the ones I need I have 2 options that I can see. I can either call Greddy attempt to deal with their ****ty customer service, and order 3 more of those. Or I can try to find those studs locally or buy bolts that will work. What do you all recommend?

I am also curious about the metal spacers that came with the kit. I have 3 of them in 2 different sizes. 2 are taller then the 1 smaller one, I assume that one of these is for the spacer that is in the instructions for use on the oil pan. The spacers are part numbers 9 and 10.

Also what did you guys use the other parts on such as the black nuts (part number 16), the silver flat top bolts (part numbers 6 and 7), and the allen head bolts (part number 8)?

Thank you for all of the help guys you 5 minutes of typing may save me hours of install time.

First off if the bolts you got for the mani are the wrong ones... ur either gonna have to order new ones from greddy... or source them out somewhere else.. if u do make sure u get the heat treated ones

the allen head bolts prt# 8 those are used to reinstall the FPR to the fuel rail.

the smallest spacer is used for the oil pan.

i didnt use the other 2 spacersnore did i use the 2 skinny black studs either.

hope that helps.. i'll provide more info later when i am not so tired.

So the four studs (1) won't work for the manifold to the turbo? If they have the right threads you might not be getting them in all the way, try using two nuts one one stud to install them buy threading the first nut then locking the second nut and using them to turn the stud into the whatever. Only if the threads are right though.

Sorry but I don't have the kit. Just trying to help out.

and just another piece of tech info that is assumed but possibly not known by a new techie.......Whenever you get a stud with a shoulder on it....the end with the short threads is the end that gets screwed into a piece and bottomed out. Lets say you have a manifold and a turbo....the stud (short end) gets screwed into the manifold and bottomed out on the shoulder. Then the turbo would slip over it and the stud should stick past the turbo. Then you would apply your retainer (washers and nut) onto it. Possibly that will help you look at some of the parts and decise where or how they must go. Not saying you are inexperienced but some people dont have the wrench time to have learned the info yet.

First off thanks for the responses. Regarding the studs I understand that the side of the stud with the shortest amount of threads gets threaded into the manifold but unfortunately the threads on that side do not match the manifold. So, when I thread those in (all the way) they would not allow me to tighten them down with a nut due to the shoulder being exposed (last picture I posted).

Here is another pic demonstrating what I mean, remember this is the only direction that the studs will screw into the manifold.

This is a manufacturing defect that happened on the original kits. They sent 5 of the big studs and 1 of the small ones when they were supose to send 1 big one and 5 small. I had the same thing happen so I called up Greddy and they are going to overnight me the correct studs. Well the good news is those big studs are identical to the ones on your stock exhaust manifold.
