Hey guys, first post. Been looking for a 240 for awhile. Finally found one I may be interested in. I might be trading my 2003 Infiniti g35 coupe for a 2jzge swapped hatch, and an 89 crx si. I would sell the si and daily the 240, but before I make the trade i wanted to know what you guys ink, and also I need advice on making this thing na-t. I know there's other threads, but I want to do this one time and do it right. I've heard the heads and lower end are good for a surprising amount of power but since it will be my daily, I'm aiming for ~450 horse to the wheels. What turbo kit would be the best for this? Also, what else will need to be upgraded. I know injectors. This will be my first build so if I ask for explaining or anything it's because I'm trying to learn. Always wanted to build a car before I get done with college and I think I might have finally found one. I'll attach pics, and car also has a w58 5 speed tranny and the s14 lsd. The car will need to be daily able and reliable but also want it to be a lot of fun. Also, my price range is kinda limited at ~$3k in upgrades, but like I said he's throwing in the crx which I can daily until the hatch is almost done and I can sell it to buy parts. Thanks for any help guys I really appreciate it. Any questions ask and sorry for my ignorance in advance, but again I'm trying to learn. 8431184312843138431484315

also I need advice on making this thing na-t.
the lack of information on all cars involved impedes anyone from even attempting to give somewhat helpful advice.
try googling and researching for more than ten minutes.

Its not as easy as you think it is, and your plan is foolish.
1) NA 2j NON VVTI. LOL YOU ABOUT TO GET RIPPED OFF.
2) You will not hit 450whp trying to go NA-T with your budget.
3) You budget is weak even trying to do the turbo conversion.
4) You're really in over your head....
Go on club lexus or google for fucks sake, and look at the pro-s and cons of Na-T vs GTE, and Non-vvti vs vvti.
Don't downgrade from a reliable g35 to a nasty, slow s13.
The splendor of youth...
3.5) if you'll end up cutting corners trying to make your budget work, you won't be doing it right...

your g is worth 7-8k if it's in average shape.
240 is worth 3k
crx is worth 1500
sounds like a really fair trade...

+1 to what was already said.
The words 2JZ and low-budget do not compute. Keep drinking beer and enjoy the rest of college, then try buying some project like that once you have the money to do it right. Especially for a first real project, I would definitely not suggest this if you need to ask a forum for most of those questions. The answers are all out there and easy to find, NA-T is nothing new.
The car will need to be daily able and reliable but also want it to be a lot of fun. Also, my price range is kinda limited at ~$3k in upgrades
Also what's the saying? Cheap, fast, reliable. Pick Two.

Also, the W58 gearbox won't hold that kind of power. Don't know about the States, but in Europe a R154 will eat up at least half your budget.

If you have 3k to blow, keep your G as a nice daily and buy the S13 from him cash and have fun in it while you gather all the parts you really need, over time, without cutting corners. If for whatever reason you decide to make this trade, you will want to keep the crx as a daily. With your knowledge base going off the questions you are asking, the car will have a lot of unexpected downtime and not having a car isn't worth it.

Keep the G35 & finish college. You can always supercharge the VQ35 later if it's in good shape. Just keep the power under 400hp & the tq under 350ft/lbs. Or there's always V8 swaps... http://www.urbanracer.com/gallery/articles/jgtc/2004/stune/0008.jpg
That would look hot with a better stance. Very Gran Turismo...

lol i ALMOST did this same thing. but i did a lot of research and didn't.
my findings echo the earlier comments in this thread.
it won't be cheap. to turbocharge an NA 2jzge, you'll spend more money than you would if you were to purchase a 2jzgte in the first place.
turbocharging a 2JZGE is really only feasible for people who own a car that the engine came with originally, like sc300, or is300's.
