Computer illeterate Twitchy needs some Ram

I need more ram and i dont know how to tell if it will fit my PC

All i know is I have PC2100 DDR ram

does that mean that whatever ram i look for, as long as its PC2100 DDR it will fit? what else do I need to know

its an AMD motherboard

basicly yeah, cause you want to keep the same brand for better performance.

pc2100 is the speed (how many mhz bus its rated at) ddr is the type (double data rate, diferent style then sdr, single data rate). pc2100 is the slowest speed or DDR ram, but you don't have to upgrade because of your slow bus speeds. you can mix and match speeds though, but it will run all of them at the speed of the slowest.

yah any really, but yah dont overspend, u should be able to get like 256 for like 10 bux after rebate, every store has some rediculous rebate like every week, its like 100 bux, 50 at the register and like 40 mail in rebate, thats if you care about money though. otherwise u know just get any 2100 ram
