im getting a GT25 turbo for an awesome price and i was just wondering what needs to be exactly done to install the turbo. is this turbo a "direct" bolt on? someone told me that everything fits except the intake pipe (which is pretty easy). other than that, will the turbo outlet bolt on? hotpipe? oil/ water lines? what else will i need to be safe at 8psi?... will i need to upgrade my injectors to maybe 550cc? also, how much power will i gain on a stock redtop SR20DET at 8psi? btw, my motor is an SR20DET redtop... sorry for all the questions, but i dont want to get the turbo, and have one of those projects that never gets done, you know? thanks guys.. :bigok:

if you get that turbo, at around 200whp you will be maxed out. it only has a flow capacity of "about" 250hp. how cheap are you getting it for because im pretty sure it isnt worth it

big difference between the GT25 and the GT25R. Which one are you getting? Also, where are you getting it from, b/c different company's use different terminology for the same turbos. The GT series is the most misunderstood genre of turbos out there. Its important to know which and where you are getting it from. GT25 is same as stock but Ball Bearing, flows about 250-270whp max. GT25R is MUCH different, requires grinding of the motor mount, custom hot pipe, custom intake, custom water and oil lines, custom actuator bracket and you absolutely will need injectors and a maf upgrade. Running a GT25R at 8psi is stupid, you are negating the benefit of running this turbo. It's much happier at 15-19psi

that is definately a GT25, not GT25R/GT2540R. GT25R uses T04S compressor cover and huge 4 inch inlet

really?? well, is $550 a good price for a brand new gt25? are gt25's good turbos? i noticed that the hotpipe outlet faces the opposite said, so i know im gonna have to make a new hotpipe, but is there any way i can rotate it?
so n00b so sad..
rotating it. you mean clocking the turbo.

personally, if you are going through the hassle of swapping turbos, I'd at least go with a GT28
www.jgycustoms.com
Check out the disco potato kit. ~2100 bucks for a nice turbo, maf, injectors, ECU, fuel rail

That turbo you're buying (the GT25, or GT25R as some call it) is no better than stock.
The GT25/40R is the upgrade. It's pretty easy to identify since the compressor housing is FREAKING MASSIVE and it has a 4" inlet.
If you have any questions about that install, just ask away. I installed mine a few nights ago.
