it will cost more to fix than to buy a new one.

I didn't wreck it, I sell rebuildables.

$11k is more than fair, it isn't THAT hard of a hit--I've fixed alot worse. I found a front cap for $3800...you could have it running for under $20k.

if you could fix it for under 20k wouldn't it be better to invest the money into fixing it then selling it afterwards? seems like you could make more doing it that way, no?

no because it'll still show up on the vehicle history that its been wrecked.

Then you will have a 20k$ car you cant sell cuz it has a salvage title on it.

I don't have the time to fix all the cars I have; It's just my partner and I running the shop, and I do this on the side.

You're correct; carfax will still say it was hit. Go get it inspected at the DMV and get a rebuilt title issued, no big deal. I just sold an 03 G35 Coupe, same as this car except black and an automatic, rebuilt title, for $21k.

maybe there but in the state of california that item is a straight up salvage no matter what and thats how the title will read and zemus is right. 20k into a salvage title or rebuild title car is a waste of time and money. You can get those cars new now for anywhere from 27k to 35k . salvage title on a new car drops the price to 1/3 its original value. Your better off fixing it and selling it in mexico, they will buy anything regardless of title and you can get 20k there for it. Though still for you its a deal for anyone else by the time they are done they have a 2Ok salvage title car that half the insurance companies out there won't touch insurance wise.
not trying to diss your sale just adding to the debate.
