AAA just raised my premium for a second year in a row, the first by about 130%-140% and this year $190. I get the first year was a hike because I was involved in an accident; though, it was my first accident in my then 15 years of driving. With this recent increase I decided to walk from my current insurance provider but while I was on the phone getting quotes I kept getting asked if my car was modified as soon as i gave them my car's year, make and model. I was truthful with the first company, Liberty, and as soon as I said my suspension was modified I got rejected right then and there. I called a second company and again, as soon as I gave them the make and model the next question was is the car modified. When I first bought the car and added it to my policy I wasn't asked. Afterwards when I changed with AAA again I wasn't asked. Now all of a sudden each call I made I was asked. Is this some new policy insurance companies are making their phone reps follow to save their tails from car owners modifying their cars for street racing or something? Do they have some kind of "black list" for cars now? I was going to actually add to my coverage but it seems that's going to be a bit hard to do if they wouldn't even quote me on liability.

Damn I screwed this. Can someone, a mod, help me move this to the off topic chat section please.
