Hey Guys, I'm new to the forum and I'm running a s15 with full BC package except the stroker kit. I'm having trouble getting the timing. I've read alot of threads but I was hoping for a more detailed approach on this subject. We were able to get the mating marks and coloured links to be exact but we're unable to rotate it to confirm timing, this is my first time doing such a thing with the guidance of my mechanic and still have trouble with it. Any useful tips or a website that could help would be greatful.

If you have adjustable cam gears and are actually trying to time the cams in aside from just putting them in with the factory timing marks you need some specialty tools.
manual chain tensioner
timing wheel
dial gauge setup to go into the bore as well as rest on the retainers and determine exact TDC as well as exactly when valves are opening/closing
Its a bit of an involved process and you need all those tools, so I would leave it to someone who has the know how and tooling to properly do it.

Wow, it's ok to run with just standard timing first right? I'll probably adjust the cams in the future. I see alot of technical knowledge is need with this so I'll leave it to a professional to perform. Thanks!
