would a bad lifter cause valve knock???
i cracked open my valve cover to see if any of my rocker arms had come loose but they hadn't.(no i didnt have time to pop the cams off) i assume its my lifters because if i dont rev over 3.5k for a few days the tapping gets quieter. if i do a little spirited driving i can hear the tapping very clearly for the next few days(im assuming a little oil got back in and little bit of air left). sounds a wee bit nasty :( . im gonna see if i can bleed them next week.

and instead of a making another thread....would it be benificial for me to get solid lifters??? or would this only be worth having on race applications???

do an oil change with a heavy weight oil. Something like 20w-50. Run that for about 1200 miles see if that helps. Mostly when lifters go the main portion inside the lifter has just collapsed and does not have the ability to retain oil inside the lifter. I'd also maybe think about going to a solid lifter setup if your planning on upgrading in the near future. Match those with a rocker arm and your set.
