95 240sx a/c problem

My A/C had been acting weird, sometime it works normal, both heat and cold works. But some time both heat and cold no work, I keep on switching it cold to hot, cold to hot is still blowing the same temp air from outside, the blower speeds work. it take a while till work. So is that means the A/C climate control is bad. or some kind of control for the evaperator door is bad.
