Hey everyone, I'm being stationed at kadena Japan in the next few months, was wondering if anyone on here is local or is stationed there. Trying to get as much information about the place, going to be there for a Ex long (4 years) so I plan on buying a car asap, of course something to drift :hsdance::hsdance: so if anyone could help me out with information and the drift scene there it would be great!

Just watch Tokyo Drift. It pretty much documents everything you should not do. I.E. Don't fool with the Yakuza and don't trust Australian girls with big jowls. But DO befriend the little black dude that makes you smile.

When you get out there just look for someone with a nice modded car and talk to them. Literally, just walk up and compliment them and BAM!! You're in. Drift out in Japan is big. The car scene out here is massive. No matter where you go, you find something you like be it cars or girls or whatever you're into. I'm station in Atsugi base until next year but trust me. Go out there and talk to anyone on base with a nice modded car and BAM!! You're in. When you get a car for yourself check some of the Facebook pages that's Japan based like Kanto Junkyard or Kanagawa Junkyard. They go to and participate in drift events almost every weekend. Let me know how it goes bro! Good luck. You'll enjoy it out here, guaranteed.

Nah man, it's serious. I mean of course there are a few more things to be weary of like girls with johnsons or stank cooch, shower rape, dog disguised as chicken etc. But for the most part life can be summed up in the first 3 FNF movies. I was in college once and I was taking my Physics with Calculus final and this problem popped up:
An object's position is described by the following polynomial for 0 to 10 s.
x = t3 − 15t2 + 54t
Where x is in meters, t is in seconds, and positive is forward. Determine…
the object's velocity as a function of time
the object's acceleration as a function of time
the object's maximum velocity
the object's minimum velocity
the time when the object was moving backward
the times when the object returned to its starting position
the object's average velocity
the object's average speed
Now instead of studying I was watching 2 Fast 2 Furious because for the life of me I couldn't remember if Paul Walker or Tyrese was driving the Yenko Camaro. But then I got caught up in it and ordered a pizza and watched it over from the beginning. So by the time I finished I had the itis and went to sleep. So during the test I clearly couldn't solve the problem from memory so I applied the physics used for the ejecto-seato cuz to the above problem and substituted x for nos and t for angle of attack because surely if you have at least two defined variables the rest literally solves itself.
Long story short I got the problem wrong but I at least learned a valuable life lesson i.e.: no one will care what you got for number 4 on you Physics with Calculus in Dr. Osei's class but they will care who was driving that Yenko in 2 Fast 2 Furious.
Take that knowledge to Japan with you man. Enjoy yourself. Just don't get caught in karaoke bars after midnight. The girls get real freaky and I just don't think you are built for that life.

Kadena and Atsugi. Air Force, I presume.
Just be sure to buy some Crocs and bring tons of Hoonigan stickers to sell for 458458689 times the normal price. XXRs, too.

It's luck of the draw really.
Step one would be to make sure the job you're signing up for can even station you in Japan, which I would assume could happen since Kadena, Misawa, an Yokota a big bases.
When you're past basic and in tech school, your instructors should let you know what bases are open. All you can do is let it be known where you'd like to go and cross your fingers. It's more or less out of your hands unless you volunteer for a year long tour in Korea and get a guaranteed follow on assignment.
Okinawa is cool and all, but if you have a chance to get orders to mainland Japan, BY ALL MEANS DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO GET THE MAINLAND ASSIGNMENT!
