Got all my parts and stuff, ready for my SR swap when I get back into town next week and it dawned on me. I don't know how to wire the ISIS dual fans I bought... I got the ISIS aluminum rad and dual fans and all that jazz. I have tried searching but honestly, I suck with everything electrical... I would like to avoid them always being on, I found that DIF dual fan controller on frsport but they don't have it anymore. The a/c fan runs to hot, I don't really want to stick anytning in my fins as I feel reading coolant temp would be better but I am having trouble.

Friend says I can use the red plug for temp sensing. I didn't pull the motor, that's my KA but my pops pulled it while I was out of town working. Friend says I should be able to run battery to plug, plug to fan, fan to ground. Both fans turn on at same time but idk what temp or if it would even work. It sure does sound easier then the forums make it out to be... Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first... newer... car I've built. I've done a lot of old hot rods which don't have all this wiring stuff to worry about.

Also, I bought wiring specialties premade harness, dunno if that matters or not.

Since the original engine didn't come with electric fans your harness isn't going to have any wiring for them. Your best bet for a cheap solution is to pick up something like this: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/imperial-adjustable-thermostatic-fan-control-226204/3670006-P?searchTerm=fan+controller

It has a probe you slide into the radiator fins and an adjustment knob to control when the fans kick on. You'll just need to wire a constant 12 volt power, ground, and wire both fans to it. It's small enough to hide between the battery and radiator support.

I was using a similar setup before I did my LS swap and didn't have any issues with it running 2 Mishimoto fans.

I would rather not stick something in my fins. I am willing to spend the money to get my stuff done right, I love my car and have money, I want to do it right. I am looking at the dakota digital electric fan setup. But still, what is that plug my friend is referencing in the picture for?

Just run a relay to the fans.

It's really, really simple!
Buy:
*30amp relay
*15amp fuse
*fuse holder
*20feet of 14gauge wire
*butt connectors

There are a couple of ways doing it. This way you can wire into 12v power source when key is ON position.
Or you can have a toggle switch and turn on manually in cabin.

Just stick it in the fins! I've done it on over 100 SR swaps - it works great for years and years. This is "doing it right". You are way over thinking this. What exactly do you object to? The fins do not get damaged or anything.

PS whatever you do DO NOT USE A MANUAL SWITCH. I personally know 3 guys who ran them that over heated when they forgot to turn it on. One of them warped his head.

And there is NO sensor on the KA or SR that is appropriate to control cooling fans on/off. Whatever that one is you pictured, it will not work properly.

They best advice is use a Clutch fan, having used both a clutch fan is more efficient and effective and you never have to worry about it. My FAL gave me more issues that what they are worth.

My probe was in my radiator, it didn't damage any fins, I want to say FAL sells their fan controller kit that they sell separate.

Guess I'll do probe in this one. By doing it right I was looking at the stance water neck adapter with 1/8" npt temp sender to a controller. Can't order anything now because I'll be home in a few days hopefully and I'll only be home for a week, then won't be home again for 3 months.
