Hey guys, new here. And I've been debating on buying this 240sx that is at my local junkyard.
The car is fully intact, with everything in the engine bay and outside.
I have a 240sx but this one is in much better condition than my current 240sx. It has no frame rust, and most of the panels are perfect. I only took one picture until my phone died.
It's an auto and the engine visually looks okay. When brought to the junkyard in 09' the previous owner said something was wrong with the engine (didn't specify) and the transmission is okay.
Before I impulse buy it for $600, I just wanted to get some feedback and info from you guys. Anything I could do before I buy it to see if anything is wrong with it?
If its the bottom end I obviously have to take the engine out which I'm trying to avoid. It has an restricted sticker. Ill probably put out more info as you guys ask questions I missed.
Thanks ahead of time

pictures would help.
i feel the most important thing is the body itself.
rust, dents, dings, and any other damage
people list their shells here all the time for more than 600$ lol

Intact interior too? Un-molseted is un-molested. Running or not. Junkyard or Craigslist.
Swoop dat shit.

yep the engine and entire drivetrain are pretty worthless, You can replace the engine/trans for under $500 if you are competent and have the tools.
what counts for $$$ is mostly the body
A non wrecked S13 body for $600? If it has the original paint and original windshield, and was never hit, that is a very rare car.

I can take more tomorrow. Its rot free. I've checked the floors, the rails, trunk, and engine bay. Rug is ruined, but I have a brand new OEM black one.
Its a junkyard car. Sitting for 6 years
Original paint, all same color.
I really wanna get it running within the next two weeks, without having to use my donor car. But if I have to I will. Anyone have any hints on to what you think made the previous owners sell it to a junkyard?

I would scoop it for $600. You can always sell it for more then that if you can't get it running.
As for why its in the junkyard, remember that not everyone is an enthusiast and to the average person, that is just an old broken car that they want out of their driveway asap. It was likely sold to the yard by the previous owner for scrap value after it broke down or was possibly purchased from a tow company at an auction since a lot of people just give their cars to the company to cover the bill if they don't plan to repair it.

remember. to the average consumer its just a 20 year old nissan. and thats enough reason to scrap it. one mans trash is another mans treasure. now that you have posted this on an enthusiast site, you better act fast and swoop that up...if of course its in the condition you say it is
I BET MEMBERS ARE LOOKING FOR JUNKYARDS IN NEW BEDFORD AS WE SPEAK.
we're vultures over here lol

yeah wow. gold if its truly 1 original paint 2 never hit. Absolutely you could buy that car, not touch a thing and turn it over for at least double your money. Even without an engine.
even I want it. What a steal I am very jealous. good lord that original air box! so luck
