***UPDATE*** got a FULL refund from PayPal. I asked them if he is getting away with the money and they said they held the payment because I filed the claim so fast.
STAY AWAY FROM NISMOSTATE!!
Seeing that I got scammed. Does anyone know where I can grab a set of these in like new condition. I'm almost desperate. My favorite wheels, they are discontinued and no one has them
ok first off I am posting to get advice from you folks.
I tried keeping his name private but I forgot it was in the texts. His name is NISMOSTATE. Just so everyone is clear I sent it as GOODS/SERVICES
First things first, I bought a set of 18x10 +18 in matte bronze bnib from a seller here whom contacted me from my wtb thread.
We talked for a little and he sent me pictures of the wheels. As seen here:
http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb466/zbarsuglia/s14/190138FF-71B8-4C5B-BA8C-60E49DA2F553.jpg
http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb466/zbarsuglia/s14/C6B121D2-4D30-4308-B726-7E4B4DCCABA0.jpg
I said everything looks good I'll send money now. He asked me to send 1200 as "family/friend" to avoid fees. I ended up sending as goods/products to save my ass. 1236.15 is what it came out to. So I sent it.
Now after I sent the money he quickly said we will exchange trade ratings on zilvia and that he will send me the tracking the next day. (Sent he money Sunday evening, so I was expecting a message Monday with details)
I didn't hear anything from him the day I was supposed to receive the tracking. So I shot him a text asking what's up..... No reply. So I waited a few hours. Sent another with no response. Upon waking up this morning I sent him another text. No response. Waited an hour. Sent another. No response. All the while he was showing activity on zilvia. So I sent him a pm. No response.
Long story short. It's been a little less that 48 hours with no response even though he's logged onto zilvia multiple times.
Am I over reacting? I know that when I sell items I'm in constant contact with the buyer.
Let me know what you would do or if I should put in a claim in on PayPal.
Here is the text conversation:

It's gonna be hard to get your money back because you had did it as a friend. I don't think PayPal is gonna cover you but you can go through your bank and tell them what happened.
I said that I wanted to cover my ass so I sent it as goods/services. I'm covered. I'm just wondering if I should wait a few more days.

File a claim but don't freak out.
Sending payment as Goods and Services has saved my ass more then once. Paypal is pretty good about that. So much so that I've heard of sellers being scammed by people accepting the product no signature then saying they've never received it and pulling payment lol.

That's legit a shitty move. Have you snooped around his zilvia profile at all?
Normally when I'm buying something from someone I thoroughly check their previous threads, posts, ratings etc.
I look for unresolved sales or items things that even send off the smallest bit of sketchyness.
Good on you for sending as goods and not as friends/family though. It's WELL worth the small amount of money for not loosing $1200.

I did a little snooping but I was so excited that I was getting such a good deal I didn't do it thoroughly.
He has good ratings which sold me. But Ya I will never send anything as friends or family. Not worth it at all.

filing a claim was pretty much your only option. getting your money back and letting him chug a dong is a great solution to the problem (and thankfully you were smart enough to ignore his family/friends request and send it as a normal payment). there is ZERO excuses when you buy something from someone to expect ANYTHING less than exceptional communication, regardless if its a $20 set of lug nuts or a $2000 body kit! i answer my emails, facebook messages and zilvia PMs almost IMMEDIATELY regardless if someone has purchased something from me via my business or via personal goods! youre giving someone money to provide you a service and a product. if that service and product are not being delivered, get your money back... simple as that! there are too many broke dick scammers out there who deserve the ass raping PayPal can do to them!

You'll get refunded, he'll keep your funds if he's withdrawn them by now, and they'll take it up with FedEx/UPS or whatever? I mean if this guy covers his tracks how will PayPal get the funds from him?

Supposedly they hold the money up to 21 days. So I'm assuming that even though the transaction was completed, he still never really have the funds to withdraw. The guy at PayPal told me that he will give the buyer till April 9 to reply with a tracking number or a refund if they don't hear back from them by April 9 they I will get a full refund. If he gets away with this I will be furious, but we all know what his username is so stay away!

The 21 day thing is (hopefully) delaying is transfer to the bank. Normally, when I sell things, I transfer the money to my bank right away...and I'm an honest seller. I'm sure this fucker tried to withdraw ASAP and if it took you longer than 2-3 days (quoted time for bank transfers to complete) then he may have already received the funds and left that PayPal account in the dust.
You'll be covered by PayPal, I'm sure, but he'll still get away in the end which is utter horseshit.

Like I keep telling everyone, people in the WTB section or 90% scammers looking for WTB threads to pray on people. I got scammed recently as well on my first purchase on Zilvia by posting in the WTB thread. Trust me, to avoid scammers DO NOT POST WTB THREAD of stuff you need. Scammers skim that section! If they really have that item that you want, dont you think they wouldve already posted a FS thread rather then skimming the WTB thread going through countless threads just to find someone interested in their specific item...

Or, just be smart about it. Don't fall for the old "send as family" trick. Plenty of members have hooked me up with stuff I wanted or needed in a bind in the WTB section without actively marketing the parts.
Sucks to here, but you should be covered. For me personally as an additional layer of security, I link all big (or potentially fishy) purchases with my credit card. In my case, American Express. When Paypal looks the other way or weasels themselves out of responsibility, American Express (or any other major credit card company) will step up and take care of you, usually no questions asked. Remember: CREDIT card, not DEBIT card.
Anyway, not sure if you're only interested in brand new non-staggered sets, but there's a staggered 18x9/18x10 set in the bay area for $1400, obo. They're definitely used, but I'd still rock them if I wasn't packed to the gill with parts.

Ya I paid with my credit card. I don't buy shit online with my debit. PayPal already told me I'm covered and I'm going to get a refund if he doesn't respond. But if he does respond, his answer can be 1 of 2 things; refund me, or tracking number. If his plan was to scam me all along I'm sure he isn't going to be on that PayPal anytime soon.

whoa whoa whoa wtf?! Seriously this mother F$A% is NOT ME! Somehow someone local must of gotten a hold of my account. I've never owned xd9's before, nor do I own an STI. only have set of Equips. I can back that up with paypal, facebook, text message, and photo evidence. The real NISMOSTATE isn't a scammer, just a super hard working drift event coordinator that got hacked. Sorry Frogster. [emoji26]

Just a heads up guys, the real account owner of NISMOSTATE is not this person. He is a Memphis local but that is not his phone number. The number you were texting was a 901 memphis number, but not his. His zilvia account was hacked or something of that sort. He doesn't own an STI nor does he own XD9's, I know this guy 100% on a personal and business level and that's NOT HIM. He is the local drift organization guy (Traction Optional) and works his butt off to keep the events going, I know he personally doesn't even have the time to scam someone with the account he is doing at his day-job right now (not that he WOULD scam someone anyways, this dude is a hands down GREAT PERSON).
Sorry to hear about this scam but for active zilvia members, this may be a bigger case that requires more attention. Apparently, Zilvia is having security issues and this could be the tip of the iceberg. Hopefully you can get a chargeback from your card holder so this asshole doesn't get away with the money.

He will be made public to our local drift community and banned from all events. I'm sure someone in the area will be down to volunteer and offer this douchebag some wedgies as well.:rant2:

whoa whoa whoa wtf?! Seriously this mother F$A% is NOT ME! Somehow someone local must of gotten a hold of my account. I've never owned xd9's before, nor do I own an STI. only have set of Equips. I don't usually log onto here often so I didn't see the PM's until now. The phone number posted is NOT my number but the area code does match my area. I run the drift community here in this area and will try to find out who this fucker is. HE WILL BE BANNED FROM ALL OF OUR EVENTS.
Damn. My bad for putting you on blast but I'm sure you understand where i was coming from. Hope to get you unbanned. What a sack of shit this dude is.
-Scott
EDIT: just noticed you did get chargeback and he didn't get money, fantastic!~
Hopefully everything gets sorted out. I got my money and the scammer didn't. Hopefully nismostate doesn't get perm banned for a scam he didn't commit lol
If I was a scammer and wanted to continue scamming I'd say exactly what nismostate has been saying...just saying. identity theft sucks for anyone, but the process to regain identity is the same for everyone, you have to start all over again for everyone to be safe. Sorry to shit on the parade but I'm just trying to cover everyone's ass at the expense of a single person.

I agree 100% it's hard for me to believe him but hey. It's up to the mods now

I understand that I can't prove myself but I do have legit vouchers. If you knew me in person, you would know that scamming people would be the last thing I would want associated with the drift organization I run. I couldn't find any conversation between buyer and scammer in my PM history so he could of just thrown out a random user name. either way, I'm glad you didn't get screwed over and don't blame you at all. that's f'ng $1200!
If someone track this mother F$%# down, I will be sure he is banned from all Traction Optional events and shunned in Memphis. There's no excuse for this bullshit and thieves are not welcome at our events.

What was the email used for the PayPal transfer? Have you googled it to see if there are any other forums this person uses?

This...or you just found the hole in the plot that a clever new story will cover up. This seems ridiculous.
OP, try YAJ for the XD9s. Jesse Streeter is out for Golden Week but you can email him and he'll respond as soon as he's back...sometimes he gets back to you even when he's supposed to be out.

No luck on the email

I didn't hear anything from him the day I was supposed to receive the tracking. So I shot him a text asking what's up..... No reply. So I waited a few hours. Sent another with no response. Upon waking up this morning I sent him another text. No response. Waited an hour. Sent another. No response. All the while he was showing activity on zilvia. So I sent him a pm. No response.
Long story short. It's been a little less that 48 hours with no response even though he's logged onto zilvia multiple times.
Am I over reacting?
you're like a crazy ex gf.
you're like a crazy ex gf.
Sounds more like someone who just gave a stranger over a thousand dollars and expected a tracking number in return.

Too bad frsport, doesn't have any in stock. No one has them in stock. Only place that still carries new xd9s is a place in Australia and they ship strictly with in Australia. Idk how seeing as that xd9s have been discontinued for some time now.
Please post if details are found out about the scammer, if he is local we want to know here in Memphis.
Let's hope we can find who it is. Doubt we will be able to
