Why am I Smog Exempted?

Ok, so I registered the car and transferred the title a couple weeks ago, and when I was there the woman said something about the car being smog exempt. I was like "Oh, ok, cool..." and signed the papers she gave me. I got the title and everything is good. Why did she say that? Don't you normally need to smog the car to register it? I've been thinking about it since then and I'm kinda happy it's exempt but confused as to why. I am a very handsome dude, so I just wrote it off to her being awed to be in my presence, but sometimes even I have my doubts.

I registered my 89 s13, and 91 s13 a few weeks back. I was given a temp op, till I get smogged. Its good for this month, then I have to go get smogged:( So I dunno what she meant.

You shouldnt' be exmempt.. but DMV has their F-ups. Just be happy, I guess.

The owner probably had the car smogged within 90 days of the sale.

Your car is not smog exempt, She was refering to the fact that the previous owner had the car smogged. :love:
