what would be the point?

what would be the point of putting four capacitors inbetween the wire that goes to the temperature sensor to the wire harness, because I just bought an 89 s13 coupe, and I am trying to get this overheating problem fixxed and I think this may be the problem.

also the car, after sitting for a whole day and the motor is cold, why does the temp gauge go all the way to normal op temp?

ok can someone confirm me somthing please? which sensor sends info to the ecu? the small one to the left that has one wire, or the large one to the right? that has two wires?
