"just venting" i hate my tires ... kumho suck my balls , with your sloppy sidewalls and horrid grip , and your insanely crappy wet traction .

Good driver can make any tire seem like a good tire, tires are a small portion of handling limits. Ie. Learn how to drive :Owned:

45 bucks per tire? what size? geez.
as for good driver can make any tire seem like a good tire... maaaybe. BUT a good set of tires is probably the most important mod, and goes a long way to giving the driver control of the car. bad tire = bad imput and bad response, nevermind the grip, and well, thats not the best condition for anyone to learn on or have fun with. yes, good driver could probably take that handicap and beat the crap out of me with hoosiers or something, BUT learning on shitty tires only makes the learning curve steeper, and prolong the learning process and really piss you off.
Of course, thats the extreme. he is talking about khumos and not junkyard tires. but half the people on this forum thinks kumhos might as well be junkyard tires.
plus, please, this is a forum about 240s and modding them in addition to driving them. You can say that about everything.
you don't need a SR, learn how to drive, you don't need coilovers, learn how to drive. you don't need a 240sx, learn how to drive your mom's camry. you don't need _s_h_i_t_. But in the end, not all of us want to be super awesome drivers, some just want to mod their cars to make driving it a enjoyable experience.
you get my point. yes, you can probably make that age old good driver statement about anything and be correct. but what the hell would be the point to this webforum?
95: you learned your lesson, wear these out, or sell them, buy something else, and never buy kumhos again if you think they suck so bad.
just so that you know, my first set of tires sucked too, i just didn't know any better =)

I think the only person owned in that comment was yourself.
Any way I don't like the Kumho's either, not the worst tire I've ever driven on but one of the cheapest so you kinda get what you pay for. Look into some Es100's, a little pricier but a pretty nice tire that comes in a very wide selection of sizes.

the best tires I ever ran were dunlop sp w10's not so great for the weather but great for drifting and hard launches.

Tell that to everyone winning races on Kumho victoracers.
The "ecsta 712" is a piece of shit though

if you're on a budget falken azenis. if not geforce ta k/d. es100s are ok for street and pussy driving, but for the money azenis is superior. i had some w10s back in the day and liked those also.

Actually, if you had the money, I would go with Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions :p

I've seen people at Auto-X that can run all season costco tires, and beat guys running R-comp.
Its all driver. :stupid:

I'd have to see that to believe it. I'd also like to see the suspension setups compared. There's only so much a driver can do, dammit.
Personally, my favorite tires EVER have been Falken Azenis Sports. I hate the Ecsta Supra 712s that are on my dad's M3... horrible tire. I believe I wrote a review here earlier.

It would help to mention exactly which Kumhos. The MX is a very sticky tire and I know many people that autocross on them. You can't just say Brand X sucks because you got the cheapest ones and were disappointed.

Why dont you compare shit that actually makes sense.
same car, same driver, costco tire vs R compound. R compound WILL be faster.
Saying "It's all driver"..........is retarded.

switch. I hated most of the tires I use (though bfs touring TA's are excellent rain tires with full tread depth) but I switched to falken azenis sport RT's...
they are 62 dollars each, which is mid range for a 205/50/15 ish tire. I coulda got cheap hancook or kumho or expensive bridgestone, bfg g force, etc...
I just got them though.
